Pregnant Silence
Dear, should I stay or should I leave this place?
Silence, but you do not stop my kissing.
Your lips are elegant and full of grace,
if I should leave then you will be missing.
You crave my presence, but I am confused
because you turn away and shake your head.
I remember once when we were amused
together, now, you want to go to bed.
Your eyes are twilight stars across the sky
but they look away from me with distaste.
I can’t go because I can’t say goodbye
and I fear you’ll take my hand off your waist.
If I leave now, I can not make us whole
But your quietude will condemn my soul.

The Dark Forest
A single leaf drifts slowly down
Scurrying ants look for something to eat
The trees loom all around,
obscuring predators, looking for meat.
Scurrying ants look for something to eat,
wandering into darkness like the ocean depths.
Obscuring predators looking for meat,
watching you take careful steps.
Wandering into darkness like the ocean depths,
the creature creeps,
watching you take careful steps.
Overhead a monkey sleeps.
The creature creeps,
belly filled with freshly killed prey.
Overhead a monkey sleeps,
slowly you start to lose your way.
Belly filled with freshly killed prey,
A snake tenses into a coil.
Slowly you start to lose your way,
your feet treading on unfamiliar soil.
A snake tenses into a coil,
stalking.
Your feet treading on unfamiliar soil,
your guide is gone, you must keep talking.
Stalking,
the trees loom all around.
Your guide is gone, you MUST keep talking.
A single leaf drifts slowly down.
