Village Adventures

Dear Journal,

Today my little sister Jenna and I woke up super early. So much so that we woke up our parents and forced them to prepare breakfast for us. After breakfast, I decided to go and explore the village with my siblings, Phosa and Jenna. We went behind my grandma's house and saw a bunch of donkeys over at the neighbor's house, behind a foresty path. We went over behind our house to the neighbors to try and investigate. We saw a donkey carrying goods in a wagon and a  bunch of our cousins were hitting it with a stick. Once the donkey was gone, we decided to go and approach the path.

“I think you guys should go back, " I say with a concerned look.

“But Luna, we wanna go with you, ” my sister Jenna says, flashing her big brown eyes at me, trying to instill feelings of guilt.

“Sorry, I'm responsible for you guys and I would be devastated if anything happened to you.”

My sister Cortney takes Jenna's hand and brings her back to our house.

“Be safe, " Cortney says.

“I will," I say reassuringly.

I continue down the foresty path on my own. On the other side, I see our neighbors standing outside their houses. I give them a friendly wave. I start approaching them slowly when I notice a bunch of dragonflies. I ignored them at first, but the number seemed to multiply exponentially. I stop, noticing a hoard of angry dragonflies staring at me, ready to attack at any second. I start running away faster than a cheetah, losing both of my slippers in the process. I ran over to the gate separating our house from the forest, closing it with a big slam.
