It has been a while since I wrote about my fuzzball, Chiku, for the school newspaper. So here's an update on his love life.
Chiku had taken quite the liking to a black beauty who visited regularly in our backyard at our old home. Sadly I did not let him out to go meet her which meant all their dates took place through the glass patio doors. They would stare lovingly at each other and I would laugh at his unfortunate situation. One day the lady decided she would not show again, she wanted all or nothing. Thanks to me, who never opened the door, it was nothing.

We have since then changed houses and Chiku was slightly heartbroken over his loss but he recovered quickly. There has been another beautiful cat visiting our backyard frequently and this time they have even met once or twice, once again a beautiful black tuxedo cat. Chiku has been taking his diet much more seriously ever since his encounter with such a woman, Lord knows he needs it (he’s such a chonky). Now his talks with her are very short; she wants to play you see. She jumps up on the fence showcasing rebellious behaviour (Chiku is forbidden to leave the premises of the backyard). I decided that this young lady has been a bad influence on my baby and put my foot down. I would not have my fur baby learning how to jump fences, this could not be done.
I do not know what the current situation is between them since he is let out in the backyard when I’m at school. Perhaps they have a thing going, perhaps she left his fat booty for a much more active cat who knows how to jump fences; I will have to wait and see.
In the meantime I took some pity on him and set him up with another friend's cat. She was also a tuxedo cat, I was being considerate you know keeping his interests in mind. So I cleaned him up and took him over to my friend's house, feeling very proud of myself.
It started pretty well, but the first time they saw each other, Chiku smacked her across the face. I have raised a woman abuser, the shame I felt. Still I had some hope that they would get along in a bit; after all he got along with everyone else, but no. Chiku threw a temper tantrum the entire time we were there. The date was a total fail and it ended with nothing but regrets.
In the end I have drawn the conclusion that Chiku feels loyal to the cat in our backyard. I may have raised an abuser, but at least he isn’t a cheater too.
I hope this extremely exaggerated version of Chikus' love life was entertaining, I will keep you guys updated in the next issue.
