April Fools Surprise

Dear Journal,

Today is finally April Fools. My younger sister has been telling me for the past week that her and dad were planning a big surprise. In the afternoon, when we came back from church, my dad said we were going to a hotel. These plans were very spontaneous and I was very hesitant to believe them. I saw my mom and other siblings pack and decided to go along with the prank. I packed all of my bare necessities and put them in the back of the car trunk along with the rest of my family’s luggage. I threw myself into the van. The van’s motion made me sluggish and I eventually dozed off. I awoke to the sight of a tall building with the words “Marriott Hotel” in front of me. I exited the van with the rest of my family and went towards the hotel. I was greeted with the sight of bright chandelier lights and comfy couches.

“This is where we are gonna stay the night,” my dad said.

Who knew something so sweet could come from an April Fools Surprise?
