First Friday

This month’s First Friday is this Friday, November 3rd, so make sure to wear purple and/or black to show your school spirit!


Math Contest

For students who signed up, the 2023 CEMC math contest is taking place on November 15th in the cafeteria from 8:55 am to 11:30 am. Make sure to mark that date down on your calendars so you don’t miss it, because if you do, you will not be able to get your money refunded.


2024 Italy Trip

During March Break there will be a school trip to Italy and all students, grades 9 to 12 are invited to join! The cost per student is estimated to be around $4200. That price covers all expenses except for lunch and discretionary expenses. For more information on this event please join the Italy trip Google Classroom or contact one of the supervisors (Ms. Heneberry, Ms. Hughes or Mr. Soto).






Clubs

Theatre Club

Get ready, because the theatre club has been working on a new production, I AM FRANKENSTEIN! The ticket sales for this production should start by November 6th, so stay tuned for those! The previews for I AM FRANKENSTEIN will be taking place on November 28th and 29th and the shows will be taking place between November 30th and December 2nd.

Grade 9 Only Events



Take Our Kids to Work Day

On Wednesday, November 1st, all grade 9 students are invited to go to their parents’ work places instead of attending school. Teachers will not be assigning any new material, so there is no need to worry about that. To sign up for this event make sure that you have completed and submitted the Take Our Kids to Work consent form. The deadline for submitting the form is Monday, October 30th. 


Grade 9 Halloween Breakfast

On Tuesday, October 31st, there will be a free Halloween breakfast for all grade 9 students. The breakfast will run from 8:20 am to 8:50 am. To attend all you need is your student card to prove that you are a grade 9 student. During the breakfast there will also be a costume contest for those who are interested in participating.


Ubuntu Grade 9 Olympics

On Friday, November 3rd there will be Ubuntu Grade 9 Olympics taking place during the block C and D for all grade 9 students. Attendance is mandatory for all grade 9 students. Prizes will be awarded to classes who are most spirited and classes that earn the most points. Make sure to choose a theme for your class and dress up accordingly!
