MUSIC FEST

Last month, the Secondary Concert Bands and Jazz Bands were busy preparing for the Capital Region Music Festival. The Grade 9 Band, Grade 10 Band, and Senior Concert Band performed at Earl of March HS on Friday, February 24th for the concert band portion of the festival. The bands performed their prepared pieces for a panel of adjudicators and then took part in a music clinic with one of the adjudicators following their performance. LDHSS is pleased to be hosting the Jazz portion of the festival on Saturday, March 4th. The Jr. and Sr. Jazz Bands performed and a number of our students will be performing as members of the Ottawa Junior Jazz Band, The Nepean All-City Lab Band and The Nepean All-City Jazz Band. This is the first time the festival has run in person since 2019 and we had a fun time running it again this year!

Over the second last week of March, our school’s ringette club competed in their last tournament of this year. In their final game they won 2-1, allowing them to win bronze!
