The New Minecraft Movie

The idea for a live-action Minecraft movie was brought up in 2014. Back then, Mojang Studios, the game’s developer, announced they were working with Warner Bros. to develop the movie. Flash forward to 2019, and it was still being reported that the movie was in development and that it would be directed by Peter Sollett. By 2022, it was finally confirmed that Jared Hess would be directing the film, with a screenplay from Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer.
The Cast
According to media reports, Jason Momoa is rumored to be a part of the film. More cast is yet to be determined
When is it coming out?
The movie is slated for release on April 4, 2025. Initially, it was supposed to release on March 4, 2022, but was taken off the release schedule in October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
My opinion
I think we should not expect too much from the movie. By the time the movie is released there will be a lot of big new updates. Also,it will be very funny to see Jason Momoa just walking around the Minecraft world.
Now the director, Jared Hess, has made many comedy movies and has also directed a couple of “action” movies so I am doubtful about how action-packed the movie will be. I also worry the film will be simply a collection of lame Minecraft puns. In any case, we will have to wait and see when, and if, it is finally released.
