Hello post!
Hello post!
A design/ engineering strength for me is my creativity in approaching problems, whilst as an area where I would still like to grow is my ability in coding.
I want to commit to documenting things hopefully by the end or immediately after class
I'd like to be thorough and sysync with my entries
and I'd like to upload clear photos
PCB drawing ideas, and final design
We chose the palm tree since we saw it as a good challenge to make.
I worked with Jonah, and we made a palm tree circuit board, and i'll remember how fun it was to design the different palm fronds!
Favorites are ideas, 1, 3, and 9.
Im going to do the Chameleon, and have it be double sided!
Phase two drawing design
Chameleon speaker design!
it still needs a lot of work but I think by getting a good scale gradient map I can replicate an interesting texture for the surface, and I will likely 3d print the speaker in small parts and glue them afterwards
Wireframe prototype
Honestly not sure if my speakers wil fit inside the head, hopefully able to put electronic components in body.
PCB: I worked with Aiden for this project, and I learned how to edit and add costom images to a pcb design.
Before of PCB design
Finished Soldered PCB
Im honestly not happy with the product
I worked with Aiden
And the original idea was to add the "Tech arts" text
AMP circuit:
Is there something about the circuit you understand now that you've spent time prototyping it: I spent time working on the led indicator and I thought initially that my circuit didnt work, but it was just a broken led
Name one part that is a complete mystery to you. Look it up on Google or Generative AI. What does it say the function of that part is?: I was wondering what the 225k blue resistor did and it adjust voltage to a certain limit
* I had taken apart most of my circuit before posting. 4
I still need to print the main component to hold the speakers and them glue all of the parts together, than Im done!
Enclosure building process

FINAL DOCUMENTATION: my goals were to create a working speaker and how for the most part I acheived that!
Reflection
Im most satisfied with the initial palm tree shaped PCB I made earlier in the semester
If i were to start over I would have spent more time trying to learn blender
two years from know im still going to know how to 3d print at lick!
