Hello Post
A design/engineering strength and area for growth:
Strength: Out of the box thinking
Growth: Well planned out and on-time projects
at least three things I want to commit to in the documentation of my learning and projects.
Photos with good background
Step-by-step guide
taking lots of photos and picking the best
After discovering we could create a pin with our PCB we imidiatly pivoted to making a badge. We chose a sheriff's badge because we feel it has the most potential for a stunning PCB as it's star like figure provides a perfect area for placement of our LEDs.

Zoe and I decided to create a sheriff's badge which lights up at the edges of the star and you can pin onto your clothes. I will remember how lights in series and in parralel differ and how to create many lights in parallel through designing.
I lost my page full of top 10 ideas to I've created this to show my top 2 ideas. The Mona Lisa an idea wehre the speakers are part of the picture, somewhat hidden and it is more of an art piece but creativly intigrates the speakers.
The "light music" is where the speakers are in a box or other container and has lights which turn on or off in sync whith the music playing.
Update:
I've found my other drawing and have now uploaded them.
Thank you for your feedback! Reading through it all, I saw that the Mona Lisa was a clear favorite. Or something adjacent. I believe I will be going with that! Most people think the eyes will be too big making the face look weird so I will pivot to something else. Someone said I could add the lights to the piece which is combining both my ideas which I love so I'm going down that path now! Currently thinking about making a club with lights or something and the lights light up and the speakers work but they're inside a picture of a club or something.
This deign encourpereates almost everything I wish to learn from A&D including the use of led lights, a dsiplay, and speakers, all intigrated into a cohesive design.
This is my speaker 80% finished in Rhino. I still would like the people to be a little better but the general design and concept is here. I also would like to add a disco ball. Here in Rhino it is laying flat however in real life I would like it to be placed on a wall or stand up.
This is my Carboard prototype of a my club image speaker. I has no side enclosures to make the front larger. I learned that I could and should consider making the front smaller and filling the sides for strength and also I do not belive the larger size is necessary. I also learned that I would have used up pretty much all of my wood recourses when in reality I can make something just as good but a little smaller.
I NEED A FINAL PHOTO. As you can see in these photos, Istarted with the light and slowly made my way to adding all components and finishing with a circut that could play music to the speakers.
The schematics above are Mari and my PCB design. Something I learned through making these was how to check circut boards to make cure the connections are correct before sending them out to be printed.
This is my amplifier before sotering anything on it.
Zoe and I created a sheriff's badge shaped PCB with gold LED lights. I am unhappy with the final product because it ended up being bigger than expedcted and not cute.
I made and LED light strip which I hope to put at the lights of my club's rave lights. I learned how to import codes and libraries and I found a challenge is making sure it was the correct library.
Update: I made the hole for my speaker too small on rhino and have to laser cut my speaker again.
My goals of this speaker was to create a rave-like image where the image of the speakers woulf be the actial speakers. I also wanted 6 lights which bounced with the music. I did not acheaive the later but I do belive I have had a good attempt and have gotten teh majority of what I wanted. I also think it looks pretty cool - enough.
What did you make?
An image of a club.
Thinking about the work you created, what are you most satisfied with this semester?
I am most satisfied with the looks of it. I also think it was a good idea and something unique.
If you were to start over, knowing what you know, what would you do differently?'
I would be quicker to get the lights in on time. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. I like it.
What did you learn this semester that will likely still be with you 2 years from now?
Information about speakers and magnets and resistance and electronics.
If you didn’t finish, what held you back?'
I could have put in more work upfront but I also have too many lights.
