PCB Ideation:
Here are our designs. My partner is Gavin. We decided on the Snowman because we think it will be a fun project to do and its the perfect gift/decoration for Christmas.
Final Snowman Sketch:
PCB Design:
I worked with Gavin. We made a snowman PCB that has 6 LED's. One thing I learned was the importantance of having your design work in Eagle so then when its time to move it to fit your shape it will all work and all the connections will be correct.
Speaker Designs:
My top 3 designs are below:
A vinatge inspired speaker. I want it to be acrylic on teh outside but i dont know how that would work
Cherries- a concern could be how they would connect
Phone- the speakers facing down might not work and the shape

10/23 Amp Circuit Breadboard:
This is my breadboard for my circuit amplifier. When I first did this my circuit board started smoking but thats ok because I was able to fix it and get it to play music 👍. I learned how important it is to double check your connections and make sure everything is correct.
PCB Amp Design- Simone and Cole "Hard to Resist":
Cole and I split up the work by both of us making different connections to different things on our board. We worked very well together. I now understand so much more how to look at a schematic and I understand how the connections work much more now. I feel like I was able to do alot more work this time and it helped me personally understand what I was doing.
Circuit Playground Challenge:
Olivia and I programed our circuit to become red when the tempature was warm/hot and blue when it was cold/cool. We used the code that helps with programing LED's to work on this challenge. Here it is below!
11/6 Microcontroller Challenge:
Maxine and I solved the problem of how to add text to our micorcontroller. We changed the portion of the code that was what was displayed on the screen.
Here is our most recent worked on code: https://gist.github.com/SimoneHare/a851c5e3bf86b1c0236e8d64e64fd3cf
11/13 Soldered Snowman!
Digital Project Plan
For my digital project I am going to make it seperate from my speaker. I havent fully decided what I want to choose for my digital project but I think I will do the little ring with LED's on it. Or Im considering adding the one that could tell time to my speaker, not 100% sure yet.
Model 11/17
Here is the darwing 2.0 of my deisgn. I orginally didnt really like my design and I didnt want to make something that I wouldnt end up liking so I choose to make a new design. This will be mostly wood and then acrylic details. I am alittle behind but I plan on working with Mr. Kleindolph to really focus on this and make something im proud of.
Prototype 11/17
Here is my cardboard prototype. Si its a box made out of wood and the two speakers are diagnol from eachother. The bottom speaker has an acrylic outline of a sun and the top speaker has a acrylic cresent moon around it. under the moon I plan on having little white or yellow acrylic stars. I think I also might add littel wooden legs so it stands possibly.
Unsoldered Circuit 11/28
Soldered PCB 12/12
I learned that its important to make sure all your soldered pieces are correctly in place because for me I had to go back and re-soldered so that all the connections worked. I got better at soldering and I got better at communicating when I do something incorrect.
Current Progress 12/15
I honestly am pretty much done. I lazer cut my acrylic and cut my wood and im currently gluing. I screwed on the speakers and everything is just drying now. I am really shocked at how much I have done during one class period. The last thing I need to do is bee's wax my speaker and im done.
Finished Digital Project 12/19
Here my digital project switches colors from Pink to Purple to Greenish. My goal was to do something maintainable and something I could do all bymyself and I actually did this by myself. So I ahcived my goals. I also did this pretty fast. I learned to stop procratinating things because Im scared it will be hard because in reality this was really easy.
Final Speaker! 12/20
My final Speaker is a sun and a moon made out of acrylic and teh box is wood. Im honestly just really proud that I was able to create a speaker in the end because I was really scared that I wouldnt have anything to show for it. If I were to start over I would probroly have a more solid design because if you check all the way to the top I did not have this as any of my orginal designs. So I would just be more decisive and create a design I liked from the beggining so I didnt have to do everything last minute. A lesson I will take from this class is to always ask for help if you need it.
