Hello Post!
Hello Post!
A design/engineering strength and area for growth
One strength in design/engineering is attention for detail. I love paying attention to small details. One area for growth is making my ideas simple enough to execute well within a time frame.
At least three things I want to commit to in the documentation of my learning and projects.
I want to commit to taking more photos in general, so instead of using all of the photos I have, I can choose my best one. I want to think of it as part of the project, not as just the way to get graded/ just for Mr. Kleindolf. And finally, I want to get more creative with the photos I'm taking, instead of just snapping one photo at the end of class, I can take 2 minutes to actually care about them
PCB Ideas!
We've chosen the retro TV idea.
Final Schematic and 2D design
Here are the photos!
Me and William are creating a Retro TV design.
I remeber how to import a rhino file into Fusion, by importing into to different layers, the cut and the printing.
Speaker Design Sketches
I like the eraser and the pencil sharpener the most, because they go with my other shops projects, a pencil and a pen. I want to try to keep that theme and the scale of them so they all go together
Presentation Feedback
A lot of people liked the pencil sharpener idea. I am leaning towards that idea too. Someone suggested that I could use two different sized speakers to make the two different sized pencils.
More detailed Drawing of Final Design
I want this to be as big as possible while still in the dimension limit, so probably around 12 x 12 and then 4-6 inches tall. The two speakers are different sizes, one B and one D.
I like this idea because it goes with my past two shops projects, a big pencil (wood shop) and a big pen (metal shop). I like how this ties in with that theme, but still feels like the two holes can be the speakers. (vs my other idea of the eraser where the speakers feel out of place)
I am challenging myself because I think most of this will be 3D printed, and I have no idea how to even start with that. I'm excited to figure out how this will come together.
Project Update!
So far the rhino is going well. I'm planning on 3d printing the main shell, and screws on top as well. The black and grey bits will be acrylic
Cardboad Prototype!
My idea is to make a large pencil sharpener.
This prototype is pretty sucessful! it gives me an idea of the proportions, which look good. I'm a little worried about the bigger speaker fitting, so I might have to print a prototype or make space inside.
Bread Boarding!
I learned about the magnet things that the speakers are connected to. Very cool that they cancel out the high and low frequences that we wouldn't hear.
I didn't get how a bluetooth connecter works. Now i know that our phones emit short range radio waves that the reciever can pick up and turn into sound.
