Hello There!
Hello There!
My name: Meshi Roth
Strengths:
I have taken a coding and design class before so i know how to use electronics
Weakness:
I sometimes have a hard time figuring out the coding and ask for help right at the bat
Three things:
I want to be able to post consistently
I want to post good pictures
I want to write enough explanation
PBC Design: 8/29/23
Here are some pictures of Manu and I's designs and ideation. We decided to do something funky and are doing the chicken legs out final design for the PBC.
Final PBC Design : 9/5/23
There were a few tech issues with the design and it took a long time to complete but I am very happy about the chicken leg and am excited about the outcome. Manu and I are ready to have it printed out and assembled.
Ideation and three fav sketches for my amp: 9/8/23
I want to build something more organic and something that would look good in my room. Or I would like to build like a speaker that would have a shelf component so i could use it and it would look similar to my other shelf that I built in J&T.
Class post it notes:
Final drawing of the amp:
For the final amp desing. I decided to go with the organic shape and have two peices of wood to look like the organic shape and then have a box between them to hold the speaker. It will all be made out of wood. There will be two amps that each have a speaker in them. The box within is the box that will hold the speaker.
Cartboard Prototype of the design:
The base of the interior box is 93 by 120 mm and the shape around it and on either side of it is supposed to look like a rock formation
10.24.23 Circuit board for the amp:
For the circuit it took a lot of time to get it to work and the bluetooth works as well which is wonderful.
PCB for amp: 10/31/23
A title and description
One image of the schematic - the shcematic is not working and says that there are errors
One image of the board
Who did you work with - gavin
How did you split up the work to meet the "minimum 10 contributions" from each person requirement
I worked on the computrer and chnaged the silkscreen on our board and put some of the connctions on the board
Being that this is your 2nd circuit board, did you learn anything new?
not really because i did a circuits class last year

link for the python work
This is a 3d model of my design. It has a detachable in the back to have the stuff be easily accesible.

here is the link to the python worksheets I have completed with Manu.
One of the challenges solved with your microcontroller (2) 11/9/23
What challenge did you try to solve?
me and Gavin wrote the code to be colorful and tell when the train would make its stop
What was your solution? - images below
Add an image or video of your solution (make sure to set the video sharing to "anyone"
could not get the link to the github (might need help in class)
PCB Board: 11/15/23
Digital component to my design:
I am going to use the screen so i can code it to write the time and maybe even the name of the song playing.
I think it is going to be a stand alone but i will try to incorporate it into my speakers
Image of what i am thinking:
Documentation: One of the challenges solved with your microcontroller (1)
i was absent that day and could not complete the assingment without the materials in the class
12/1/23 : finished group PCB Meshi and Manu - the lighting overpowered the battery so it could not light up
12/1/23 Finished AMP PCB
I am super proud of this PCB! i did not think it would work and all the parts go together nicley
Final Amplifier: 12/19/23
Written responses to the reflection questions:
What did you make?
I made an organic shape
Thinking about the work you created, what are you most satisfied with this semester?
I am most statisfied with my design and how loud my speaker sounds
If you were to start over, knowing what you know, what would I do differently?
I would focous more on making my speakers sound good and maybe build a cooler design but i really like how i worked this semester
What is a lesson from this class that you will take with you and use in future projects?
I think planning is super important and everything will come together at the end
Did not have enough time to do the full digital project : https://gist.github.com/mrooth1/ada84579759ef141356fe4aa239af198 - this is a code for a digital pattern I made on the circuit playground- the green flickers to blue and back- a pattern:
A reflection on what you learned during this process/what challenges you faced:
Through the coding prossses i learned how to make a pattern and change colors on the circuit playground- my goal was to make a cool pattern that would play and I kind of achived it.
