A design/engineering strength I have is the execution of my ideas and being able to adapt if something doesn't work well. An area of growth is having more ideas and more varied ideas during the ideation process.
I want to commit to documenting my progress for every class I use on my project with at least one photo, writing a short description on the project for each post I make, and keeping my page up to date and organized.

Pizza, old speaker, robot
Jellyfish, flower, heart
We chose to do the jellyfish because we thought it was a cool and unique idea, and we liked the concept.

I made a jellyfish board design with Sophie. The design is supposed to be a jellyfish from an above angle, including the patterns on the top of it that light up. Something I'll remember about PCB design is that schematics aren't accurate. Our schematic is not at all similar to the shape and layout of the actual PCB but it represents the circuits accurately and that's what matters.

My two favorite sketches are the front of the car and the turbocharger. With the car, I plan on having two of the headlights be speakers and the other two lighting up. With the turbo, I think the exhaust inlet and the compressed air outlet would be the speakers and then the inner parts with the turbines could be motors for my electronic part.

A lot of the feedback I had was about how a turbocharger might be complicated because of its unique and circular shape. A lot of other comments were asking where the speaker would be. In class, someone asked about the scale for the front of the car design if I used the large speakers and how that might make the design too big, so I might have to use the small speakers or reconfigure the design. Right now, I want to do the car design, but I'm thinking of having the grill contain the speakers rather than the headlights because then the speakers can be the larger ones that sound better. I still have to think about it though.

BMW E30 M3 inspired speaker design
I think this is going to be a good design to build because it utilizes various types of materials and construction methods. It will come together nicely in the end and have a unique variety of shapes. I think this is going to be challenging because I don't have that much experience with laser cutting, and I want to try to laser cut most of the complicated parts in my design. I also think joining the materials might be challenging and so might the digital part, because I haven't really coded much before.
September 30: Project Update 3D Model
So far, my speaker is still pretty similar to the drawing. I moved the speakers themselves down into the bottom part with some of the slots used for the speaker to fit and the sound to come out. I need to see if this is actually a feasible design idea, though. There's a lot I have to work out with the spacing, but so far, the shape is pretty much there.
