Hi, my name is Nadia and I use she/her pronouns.
An area of strength for me in design and engineering is my ability to adapt my designs and my flexibility.
An area of growth for me in design and engineering is persistence and pushing through challenges.
I want to commit to documenting both my successes and setbacks, parts of the learning process that I enjoy, and I'd like to document my thought process more.
Today we explored circuits and got reacclimated with breadboards. I built one circuit with a single LED, one with a switch and an LED, and one with a switch and two LEDs.
Today we built two circuits that explored the ideas of parallel and series circuits. The first circuit we built was a series circuit that connected three LED lights in a series with one resistor. The second circuit was a parallel circuit with three LEDs and three resistors.
This is a series circuit with three LEDs and one resistor.
This is a parallel circuit with three LEDs and three resistors.
Today we did some sketches of our ideas for the PCB Design project in partners. Below are 10 sketches that could work as ideas for this project.
Today we did some sketches of our ideas for the Speaker project. Below are 13 sketches that could work as ideas for this project. I circled my top 3 ideas.
This month, I made a lot of progress on my speaker. I finalized my Rhino design and used the laser cutter to cut out the pieces for my prototype. After doing this, I began to build the prototype for my speaker and I made some minor changes to my design to make everything fit better in my final project. I also built the circuit for my speaker on a breadboard and I included Bluetooth.
Below are pictures of the progress I made:
During the month of November, I focused on soldering and customizing my PCB for my speaker circuit. Charles and I created a PCB that was customized and says "live, laugh, love" on the board. Our board did not have a switch feature because neither of us wanted that in our speakers. When we ordered the PCB, we did not realize there was a minor issue with our board and the external power port, but we fixed it with a simple connecting wire. After I did some troubleshooting, I finished soldering my circuit and tested it with and without Bluetooth. Both tests were successful.
