Hello Post:
Design and Engineering Strength:
I think outside of the box and am good at persevering.
Design and Engineering Area for Growth:
I need to work on time management and using efficiently
Three things I want to commit to in the documentation of my learning and projects:
Clear/Helpful Visuals
Detailed through Description
Documenting my steps throughout a project
PCB Ideation
Me and my partner Mika both drew tree designs. We ended up picking the oyster design because it's the design that made the most sense with placing the batery, LED's and etc. We also ended picking that design because it was both our favorites.
Collaborative PCB Design Reflection
My partners Mika and Hannah created an oyster circuit board. Something I will remember about creating a circuit board is the importance of not overlaping different parts like resistors or batterys when you are building the board.
Speaker Design Ideation
At first I drew the images on the far left. I didn't love any of the drawings so I re drew three on the image next to them. The three in the right image are my favorite. I went with an underwater them and I mostly like them because they have a more complex and unique design then the other drawings
Feedback
Somethings that came up in warm feed is that peopel prefered my jellyfish design. Some questions I got was about where I am going to put my speaker and how I would hang the jellyfish.
Phase Two Drawing
This design is a good design to meet my growth goal because it will be a project where I am forced to chunk things out and make a plan that includes good time management to get it finished in time. This design will challenge my problem-solving and design skills
Digital Modle
This is my digital rhino modle for my jellyfish speakers. It only include matierial that I will have to 3D print or cut. It shows the main part of my speaker that will hold the speakers and the hook that will hang them
Cardboard Prototype
My idea was a jellyfish speaker. This model doesn't accuretly represent it because it is supposed to be 3d printed and its difficult to make a dome out of cardboard. It helped me physicaly understand the size of this lamp. The only thing I want to recheak is if my desgine needs to be this tall and if I can shorten the hight of the strip in the middle.
Amp Circut On Breadboard
I now understand how to construct a circutboard and the importance of a resister. "An electrolytic capacitor is a capacitor that uses an oxide film made of aluminum, tantalum or other oxidizable metal as a dielectric. Because of its potential for large capacitance, this type of capacitor is used extensively in power supply circuits and similar applications."
Amp PBC Design and Schematic (partner Mika)
I learned how to add a silk screen and how to connect the different parts
Unsoldered PBC Board
Completed First Shaped PBC Board
My original idea was to make an oyster. I used LED lights, a batter and resisters, and a switch. I am very proud of the outcome
Soldered Completed PBC Board for Speaker
Final Amplifier Documentation
My goal was to make a jellyfish. I made a jellyfish! I am most satisfied with how my speaker looks. If I started over I would like to space out my time more. I will always remember how to soder because of all the time I spent doing it.
