My favorite two designs so far are both horizonal box speakers with fun details. One would have laser cut puzzle pieces scattered along the sides and the other would have vines and leaves—a nature theme—throughout.
This person mentioned how, in my design, they liked that the plant would grow "through" the speaker. This wording gave me an idea for another design I want to try sketching out soon. What if I created a hortinzal, rectangular speaker decorated with records, and then blooming out of the top, something music related—music notes? pause + play buttons?
I think that this design will be a fun build beacuse it incorporates many different materials: wood, electronics, acrylic, and 3D printing. It showcases music in different forms and is something I would enjoy having on display around the year in my home. This class is my re-introduction back into the shops since Freshman year so, with this design's variety of used materials I think it will force me to sharpen my skills in things I haven't used in a while— Rhino and coding. This deisgn will also expose me to new machines, like the 3D printers, which will be challenging.
