In this class, we did a guided ideation to come up with a few ideas for speaker designs. My favorites are circled.

Most of my feedback confirmed my thoughts that the ship idea would be the most interesting of my two designs, though much more complicated. The two questions that were asked the most were: Where are would the speakers go? And what would the hull/boat be made of.

I think this will be a good design because, I think it will be fun to build, it is a design I'm proud of, and I think it is a novel thing to put speakers in. I think the entire design challenges me. This will be the first time I design somthing to 3d print, then join it to metal, then spray paint it, etc. 

Currently in my design I've finished the wood cutouts for the top of the boat, and I've almost done making the smokestacks for the speakers. I still have to shape the hull (bottom right photo).

My idea was to build a 1910s ish boat with speakers coming out of the top in the funnels. After doing some cardboard prototyping I learned that my tolerances for my top wood cutouts were wrong and I fixed those. I cleaned up the hull and tried to shape a mesh into a bow. The only thing left to do is clean up the top speaker designs.
