A design/engineering strength of mine would be that I am very organized and patient while working on things.
An area of growth is the initial part of ideation because it can take me a while to come up with good ideas sometimes.
Three things that I want to commit to in my documentation:
Taking clear pictures of the projects that I am working on
Staying on top of my page and uploading images and descriptions on time
Making sure that my descriptions make sense and are easy to understand
8/30/23 PCB Board Prototyping
My partner and I chose to do the dinosaur. We chose the dinosaur because we had both drew a different version of one while we were coming up with ideas. We are going to give it 5 spikes on its back, and place one led onto each spike.
We made a dinosaur because we wanted to. We like dinosaurs and we think it came out pretty well. I worked with Kai on this project. We will remember to not pre-emtively exit the autorouter as we made that mistake like 3 times. In the future we will be more efficient because we know how to use eagle now.

Speaker Ideation
I think that I am most likely to move on with the milk carton idea. One concern is trying to figure out how to join the material on the top that would give it that pointed shape on top.

9/27/23 Rhino Design
I was thinking about making the box that will hold all the different parts out of wood, and the front and back side that look like a caterpillar out of acrylic.
I am not sure how I will arrange everything inside of the box to make it fit. I am also not sure how well the sides of the box will join together.
10/12/23 Cardboard Prototype
I used the laser cutter to cut out the different pieces that I had made on rhino, and then used tape to stick them all together.
10/23/23 Amp Circuit on Breadboard
One thing that I learned during the process was that you have to be extra careful when placing down wires because there were a few times that I had it connected to the wrong spot which led it to not work.
This is my finished amplifier circut on a bread board. There is also a bluetooth component.

11/1/23 Amp PCB design and schematic
I worked with Marcus on the PCB. I started the board by trying to connect about half of the parts on the schematic, and Marcus did the other half. He then organized the board, and checked it for errors, and I fished it off by using the ratsnest command. I think that I learned how to better navigate Eagle as this was my second time using it and this project was quite complicated.
11/6/23 Feather OLED Screen Challenge
11/9/23 Feather ESP32-S2 Challenge
My partner and I worked to get San Franciscos weather to display on the screen.
We did this by connecting the board to the internet and then searching for the weather so that we could import it into our code.

11/13/23 Digital Project Ideation
I am planning on making my digital project a real time clock, that displays the current time in SF. I would most likely use the Feather OLED Screen, and I want to incorporate it as a part of my speaker.
11/28/23 Unsoldered Circuit Board
This is my unsoldered circut board that I made with my partner.
12/1/23 Shaped PCB Project Completed
I worked with Kai to create a dinosaur shaped PCB board. I chose to put green LEDs into the board to match the color of the PCB. I also soldered in a switch, batter holder, and 5 resistors.
12/10/23 Soldered Amp Circuit
Something that I got better at during this process is soldering. For example, I think that I was able to solider the wires attached to the potentiometer really well. Also, the first circut board that I completed did not work because of an error in the schematic, so the second board that I worked on looked way neater.
12/13/23 Enclosure Build Process
I still need to cut out the top piece for my enclosure, and then glue the top and back side of the box together. My speaker also plays a little bit of static while the music is playing, so I need to work on fixing that.
12/20/23 Amplifier Documentation
I made a caterpillar designed amplifier with a wooden box, and acrylic on the outside. I really like how the acrylic part of the enclosure turned out. If i were to start over, I think that I would make the wooden box press fit because I had to glue all the sides together, and I am not able to open up the box if I need to fix something. I think one lesson that I will take with me is the prototype phase that we went through while designing our encloser because it really allowed me to see what worked and what did not work for my design.
12/20/23 Digital Prject Documentation
I aimed to make a real time clock, so that I could know what the time is while listening to my music. One thing that I learned was how to use python to code as, I had never used that application before. A challenge I faced was not being able to figure out how to upload the folders needed to run the code onto the device, because the software updated.
