Hi! I'm Vivian and I am super excited to be a part of this DNT course!
One design/engineering strength that I have, is I am pretty good at soldering
Three things I would like to commit to in the documentation of my learning and projects are:
Maintaining a neat and organized documentation page.
Getting better at reading schematics
Taking clear and informative photos for my documentation page.
Thank you!
We chose to make a donut with LED sprinkles, because it was a cute design that would incorprate some unique geometric features and a specific use for out LED lights. Our design will inlcue icing and 12 sprinkles/LED lights.
I worked with Carolina to make out donut circuit board. I will remember how to route and re-route circuits.
I selected #4, #9, and #10, but I think I like #9 the most!
The general consensus for my feedback was:
If I decide to make the cloud, I should 3d print it
almost everyone like the shell better, which I would also 3d print
Why do you believe this is an excellent design to design and build?
It is unique, and achievable with ought the woods-hop. it will also incorporate my digital project, because I will use the LED lights!
How are you challenging your current skill set?
I have never 3d printed anything before, or even made a shell on rhino, so figuring out how to make that from scratch will definetly be challenging!
Here is my (almost!) completed 3d model! I have 2 3d printed shells with acrylic centers (it will be white not red) on top of a wooden box with acrylic waves! I still need to make sure the acrylic will cut out correctly and my object of proportionally sized, but I should be all set to build my cardboard model!
What is your idea?
My idea is to make an ocean themed box! I have lazor cut acrylic waves on the front of the box, and 3d printed shells on the top that will light up with the music!
What did you learn from my prototype?
I learned that I will need to cut the wood to make the box itself at specific angles so it all comes together smoothly!
Does your design need any modifications?
I learned that I had made my rhino prototype WAY too big, and I needed to scale down the model.
