Hi, I'm Linda Palmer! My design strength is being able to plan a lot in my mind. My area of growth in design is challenging myself to create more complex designs and really thinking bigger than I usually picture for myself.
I want to commit :
a productive mind to stay on task and make quick good work
a good attitude to not get frustrated
very neat spacing so as to not overload paragraphs
Me and my partner Rajiv liked the ideas of using animals in our designs so I sketched some simple ideas. I really like my dog sketch because I thought it could be fun to light up the nose.
I learned a lot about the flow of energy through the batteries and the importance of placement. I also learned a lot technical things about building circuit boards.
I choose this design because I wanted to focus of the sound quality but with this idea I will have a lot of opportunity to play with the design.
This is a mostly finished design in rhino but I still have to add some details.
This is my prototype. Think it tuned out ok but I think I need to add some details like a switch for a battery and a whole for the light. I also need to finalist some ideas for the record such as doing ridges in the edges.
I had my ups and downs with the breadboard, I think I have a greater understanding and learned a lot about the rows and the travel of energy. The breadboard is to give us a physical idea of what we are doing when we solder our speakers together.
I did the first challenge and I struggled at first Python, but through a lot of repetition. I was able to complete the challenge but I don't know if I did it the best way.
My partner, Catarina, and I, made out circuit board for the speaker.
Me and my partner Sarah, made code to randomize the colors in our LED. I had a really fun time working with my partner and fixing any bugs in our code as well as coming up with creative solutions
Me and my partner Nia, worked to try to make a randomize color light but for some reason our code didn't work and the microcontroller didn't work but next time we will nail it.
Me and my partner Marisa were able to take this clipart off the internet and put it on the screen. I had a lot of fun with this and I think they would be a really cool way to display time on my speaker.
Rajiv and I made a circuit shaped like a dog with six lets and a battery. It turned out reallty well and I'm very happy with it.
My digital project it a light that lets me know the lamp is on. It would turn on when I turn on my speaker and wire through my circuit board. It would be just a small LED in the right corner right next o my speakers.
This is my speaker box, I have screwed in my speaker but I don't have a photo of it. I also am working on getting my acrylic worked out.
This is a record player designed speaker. I am most satisfied with the speaker sound quality as well as the spin ability of the record on top. If I was to start over, I would make sure to measure the speaker width because I ended up having to saw part of it off to get it to fit. I will for sure take the knowledge of ideation and circuit board design to future projects.
