Indoor Athletics District Champions!
On Tuesday and Thursday we had the pleasure of welcoming our parents to the school. We made a few changes to the days based on your feedback. Thank you to everyone who added a comment to the celebration board (I will share details of any themes once analysed.)
Everyone has something to be celebrated
Everyone has something they can improve
Personally, the children being present was my favourite adjustment for two reasons:
The children were able to share their learning with their parents.
Everyone was part of the conversation of celebration and improvement.
As always, we'd love your feedback on the changes: Parent's Evening Feedback Form
We were delighted to welcome Tulsi Seva Dasi to share her knowledge and life story of Hinduism. It was empowering to see our Hindu pupils take pride in their own culture and faith and for the rest of the community to better understand the Hindu faith. A common theme with our external religious visitors is that the messages and morals are all so similar - human values. In times of global conflict, it is even more important we recognise our common ground and allow cooperation to triumph over competition. A huge thank you to Tulsi for her talk which included an impressive Conch Shell performance! Another huge thank you to Mrs. MacKintosh for arranging this outstanding religious visitor as part of our program of religious education.
There are three exciting projects that we would love the children to get involved with this half term - a chance to be a part of Little Green history! See the slides for full details.
Look out for the '75' sheet that your child will bring home today - slide also in Google Classroom.
We had our 100th response to our Google form yesterday - but want more!!
So, if you are a former Little Green pupil, or perhaps you know someone who went to Little Green at some point over the last 75 years, we'd like your help. We're on the lookout for old photos, letters, certificates, pieces of work, uniform, coloured PE shirts - anything that gives us a snapshot of Little Green's past. We are also going to try and piece together some data that we could use as a learning tool in school.
The first step is to get as many former Little Green pupils to complete this form: https://forms.gle/tEoq3jaz3Juh1xDh8 - please feel free to share the link with your friends and on social media.
We had the pleasure in welcoming Rosie and Ted to deliver Sustainability workshops which will help us to understand the best way to develop our outdoor areas. Our focus on sustainability can help us to support the next 75 years of Little Green!

Little Green Boys are the Y6 Indoor Athletics District Champions!
After winning the local partnership round earlier in the term, Little Green's Year 6 Boys team went to compete in the Watford & Three Rivers District Final at The Royal Masonic School in Chorleywood.
The team competed in their field events first and did an amazing job, pushing themselves to the limit to score the most points possible. When they moved onto the track, they managed to finish in the Top 3 of all 6 races, winning in the 2x2 lap relay, over + under relay and 4x1 lap relay.
Heading on to the Hertfordshire County Final next half-term, the team are extremely excited to represent the District and see how they fare against the best in Herts!
Doodle Exciting Update!
Following a successful trial, we are renewing our licence of Doodle and we will let you know when we go live for the year. When the premium subscription has been renewed, the doodle accounts will no longer ask for the premium subscription and all children will be able to access all areas of the apps.
We will also be considering the minimum expectation for children for each year to ensure we are targeting the needs of each year. You can, of course, use Doodle as much as you feel is appropriate for your child.
Please do consider total screen time and try to doodle together occasionally to support your child's learning and understanding.
How do you know that's the answer?
Can you explain why?
Would you like to support your child's school without any additional cost to you?
Click this QR code and add in a few simple details for an easy way to donate to FOLG every time you pay with NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU!
See the impact so far! Thank you!!
Stationery sets
Save yourself the summer stationery shopping stress and buy now! Sourced by Mr Flint so all of the equipment in the packs is school approved!
The flash sale price has unfortunately finished so packs will now be priced at a very competitive £10 (still far cheaper than you can source on the high street!) and can be ordered via: www.pta-events.co.uk/folg. The pack contains 2 writing pens, a green pen, 2 HB pencils, a pair of scissors (you can specify right or left handed), Pritt Stick, eraser, Boogie sharpener, 30 cm ruler, whiteboard pen, highlighter all contained in a clear pencil case. These can then be sent straight to your child's classroom or be held at the school office for you to pick up.
Second hand uniform
Good quality second hand uniform can be ordered from Faye via folg-uniform@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk - most items are just 50p. Send an email outlining the items you wish to order - remember to include sizes and your child's class - you will then receive an email to let you know when your items are ready to collect from the school office.
MESSAGES / NOTES:
CAR PARKING REMINDER
Please do not park on the yellow zig zag lines. This is a waiting offence and puts pedestrians at risk. Police will almost always issue a Fixed Penalty Notice without exceptions. Please park safely.
A polite reminder that parents should not be driving into the School car park for any reason between 8am and 5pm.
Only Blue Badge holders should be accessing the School car park. Thank you.
BASC (Breakfast and After School Club) parents can use the School car park before 8am and after 5pm.
