Year 3 Climbing Mount Everest!
Year 5 Fractions
Year 5 Alien Soup!
It was a pleasure for Miss Sedgwick and I to spend a little time sharing some of Little Green's thinking and approaches to behaviour and developing habits. We are trying very hard to reach out, engage and work with our community to make sure we are doing the very best for Little Green Junior School. We share the recording left - also available on the Communications Page. We also promised to send out a survey to get whole school feedback on what you would like to talk about.
Feedback AND future suggestions - please share your thoughts!
Our 'Voice' Curriculum Map - IN Development
Mapping speaking, listening and performing opportunities across the school curriculum - IN DEVELOPMENT
Miss Gay, our esteemed choir lead, has been working hard to map our 'Voice' Curriculum (Speaking, Listening, Performance) across the curriculum and through the school. We have aimed to make sure opportunities increase in terms of expectation and that they build on each other year on year. Sequenced and Cumulative Learning: this is in draft stages and not all elements have been agreed, practically considered and trialled in school. Year 3 will be testing some elements with Miss Gay and we look forward to firming up other elements to ensure they are manageable and impactful across the school. We wanted to show you some of the work that goes on behind the scenes before a big whole school policy comes to your attention - we are always learning and trying to be better! Any feedback appreciated!
Some recent Instagram and X posts (formerly Twitter) to catch your eye. Lovely to have renowned English Expert Penny Slater sharing our work - 1500 views which, I am told, is a good thing!
Watch out this week for the first Classroom Chatter Podcast from Mrs Langton and Ms Muckell - special things are happening at little Green Junior School!
As we develop our communications, we will be updating the school website mapping and content also. However, for now, we are still using the website front page BLOG to share amazing learning. This week, Year 3 scaled Mount Everest. BOOM!!
Take a look! https://www.littlegreen.herts.sch.uk/
This week in Geography, Year 3 have been climbing Mount Everest! We have walked through the Valley of Death, on Ice Falls and finally got to the Summit! We then discussed afterwards how we felt as mountaineers throughout the climb and decided we were full of pride when we finally got to the top.

Stationery sets
Save yourself the summer stationery shopping stress and buy now! Sourced by Mr Flint so all of the equipment in the packs is school approved!
The flash sale price has unfortunately finished so packs will now be priced at a very competitive £10 (still far cheaper than you can source on the high street!) and can be ordered via: www.pta-events.co.uk/folg. The pack contains 2 writing pens, a green pen, 2 HB pencils, a pair of scissors (you can specify right or left handed), Pritt Stick, eraser, Boogie sharpener, 30 cm ruler, whiteboard pen, highlighter all contained in a clear pencil case. These can then be sent straight to your child's classroom or be held at the school office for you to pick up.
Second hand uniform
Good quality second hand uniform can be ordered from Faye via folg-uniform@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk - most items are just 50p. Send an email outlining the items you wish to order - remember to include sizes and your child's class - you will then receive an email to let you know when your items are ready to collect from the school office.
