Believing something
doesn't make it true...
We believed that parents would be very much in favour of trialling a stagger and a one-way system. We always check the evidence. The evidence has shown us that our belief was not true! Thank you all for the feedback and we will act accordingly. See pie chart!
On another note, we will be launching our Parent Parking Advisors soon. We have been walking around to ask people to sign up for more information and we will be sharing more details with those interested next week.
If you feel you could support another parent to park more appropriately, please do sign up for more information: PARENT PARKING ADVISOR REGISTER INTEREST

Please click the links below to see the Home Learning opportunities and expectations for each Year Group. Feedback to our more flexible approach has been incredibly positive and we continue to try and balance the importance of families engaging in learning with the flexibility that busy lives sometimes require. We have been devising a slightly more useful system for sharing our themes and curriculum plans. Please find attached a set of four slides that show you the curriculum for each Year group. We are currently developing a more detailed curriculum journey for each subject and we look forward to sharing this with any parents who would like a bigger picture and the opportunity to support their child even further.
I like my quotes and this one makes sense to me and links to my own experiences of teaching. One of the ways we are looking at supporting our further developed learners is to identify common misconceptions, identify why the misconceptions arise and then share this/teach this, to classmates.
When we have to explain something to others, we are forced to carefully reflect on how we narrate this information makes it more clearly understood.
With reading, spellings, times-tables, Lexia and the popular Home Learning approach, we are confident that all children at Little Green have the opportunities to extend their learning. We are also, sometimes, asked for any other approaches that may further support a child's development at home. Whilst we are not big advocates of significant screen time, there are a range of websites that do support curriculum learning and can support children at all levels. Although we wouldn't agree with the motivations suggested, there are some great websites listed on this website: https://www.mkewithkids.com/post/10-educational-websites-that-will-actually-let-you-work-for-an-hour-or-two/
We are also looking at ways to develop extra school provision at our Breakfast and After School Club - watch this space!
Currently 22 positive cases isolating from school with 1 cluster identified and communicated to that class. 19 children and 3 staff in total.
We have updated out Covid reporting approach as follows:
Thank you for your email to Little Green Junior School. Your enquiry has been passed on and will be dealt with as soon as possible. If you are emailing to advise us of a positive Covid result, please complete this google form which will provide us with the important information to help us monitor cases across the school and, when necessary report cases to Herts County Council - https://forms.gle/6SZyf4bg5ENVegBMA . We are following the latest Government guidance and this can be downloaded at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
Please note we are no longer using the positive Covid email, all absences should be emailed to admin email as usual.
Thank you to every that attended the meeting this week. We will be sharing the minutes in due course.
Lots of possibilities were discussed including provisional dates for the Summer Fair, Spring Disco and how we might use some of the funds raised to support all of the children of Little Green. This included supporting extra visits and experiences in the coming months and looking at improving the stage lighting for productions.
We have also been informed that you are still able to order mugs from the Christmas Card website should you wish.
