With only this weekend to go for the majority of our competitions, now is the perfect weekend to start a good habit -
take a risk, have a go, you have to be in it to win it!
This is the last weekend of all of our other competitions with the closing date on MONDAY 10th July! Each competition team will be judging their entries and we aim to announce the winners on Monday 17th July in assembly. Good luck to everyone taking part.
A few of the competitions have minimal entries. If you haven't yet decided which competition to enter, maybe show some kindness and consider the following:
Draw Croxley
Arts and Crafts comp
Change the environment
Sports Trophy design

From Mrs Faires:
In total the school raised and amazing £424.75! That is amazing!!! It will definitely help to make a chance to children’s lives.
Anjali, Penny and Izzy completed their successful Planting Competition this week announcing the winners in assembly. They were overwhelmed by the number of entries, both as pictures and plants, brought in to school. Congratulations to all of the winners and everyone that took part: a lovely environmental competition celebrating the magic of planting and growing and maybe starting a few new green fingered habits...
On Monday we also announced the winners of the 'Write your own story' competition. There were a range of brilliant entries and the judges including, Mr Hyde and Ms Marriott, had a very hard time selecting the winners. However, after some careful analysis and consideration, the winners were selected. The prize was to have their own story turned into a real book and so we have all had to wait to find out the winners whilst the books were being made... One of the competition organiser's parents, Mrs. Jones, did an absolutely incredible job in creating two beautifully made books and it was a treat to see them presented.
Congratulations to Emily and Myra for their brilliant stories. Enjoy reading and sharing them with friends and family! At Little Green we work hard to help everyone to love reading - one of the best habits!

Congratulations to Lily who won the Parish Art competition for the second time. Her art has been framed and donated to the church - thank you!
Her best friend Sophie (5R) also won with her collage art!
It is lovely to see children continuing to develop their learning habits and skills outside of school and even better that they can see the hard work of consistent good habits paying off. Well done girls!
Another great habit to get into - the art of sailing. Our second Year 4 class had the pleasure of learning to sail this week. Miss Brauka reports it was a fantastic week of risk-taking, overcoming fears, learning new information and experiencing new physical challenges - like capsizing!
A fantastic range of habits developed and developing.
Year 4R with Mr Flint are the final class to enjoy this next week!
After their wonderful participation at the Eco Council celebration last week, the Eco Council representatives came to the stage to share the learning they experienced at Cassiobury Farm. With Year 5 as our Eco Council, and a whole topic dedicated to sustainability, the school is set up well to embrace the sustainability agenda of the current government!
The Student Cabinet, elected by their constituents from across the school, have had an incredibly positive year. They have driven their constituents' messages and worked hard to make the school a better place. Their actions include:
Developing better play and lunchtime opportunities; developing a greater amount of food options and salad at lunchtimes; supporting Pyjamarama Day for a children's Cancer charity; proposing, planning and leading a project that introduces the use of lockers for Year 6.
This all resulted in their win as the Student Council Forum School Project of the Year!
This week they have been reviewing the Leavers survey and they will be sharing the results with the school on Monday!

Stationery sets
Save yourself the summer stationery shopping stress and buy now! Sourced by Mr Flint so all of the equipment in the packs is school approved!
The flash sale price has unfortunately finished so packs will now be priced at a very competitive £10 (still far cheaper than you can source on the high street!) and can be ordered via: www.pta-events.co.uk/folg. The pack contains 2 writing pens, a green pen, 2 HB pencils, a pair of scissors (you can specify right or left handed), Pritt Stick, eraser, Boogie sharpener, 30 cm ruler, whiteboard pen, highlighter all contained in a clear pencil case. These can then be sent straight to your child's classroom or be held at the school office for you to pick up.
Second hand uniform
Good quality second hand uniform can be ordered from Faye via folg-uniform@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk - most items are just 50p. Send an email outlining the items you wish to order - remember to include sizes and your child's class - you will then receive an email to let you know when your items are ready to collect from the school office.

Please do show kindness to everyone when using all of the paths to and from school. The end of the day is always a busy time and, as requested by parents, we do have a 2-way system.
Many thanks for supporting the community.
CAR PARK REMINDER
Just a polite reminder that parents should not be driving into the car park for any reason.
Only Blue Badge holders should be accessing the car park. Thank you.
