A huge thank you to Sophie, Grace, Isley and Siyana for conceiving and creating this amazing Photography competition. The school voted over the last two weeks and it is a pleasure to announce the winners. A HUGE thank you to every child and family who took part - the pictures were stunning and even more inspiring because they were local. My own favourite was the 'Croxley Flag' that caught three bands of coloured nature. However, the votes and the children decided the results: Democracy in Action. I am delighted that FOLG have agreed to fund the winning prizes which will be for the children to have their pictures turned into a canvas to adorn the school cloakrooms, and a picture for home. The size of the pictures will be relative to their ranking in the competition...
Joint third place - both with 8 points:
Chloe's Deer in the Woods
Luke's Sunset over Little Green Lane
In 2nd place with 15 points:
Elsie's Puppy
And in FIRST place: with 24 points:
Bobby's Gecko
A huge congratulations and thank you to Millie for her incredible poem, sharing the school's ethos - voted for by all of the children.
The poetry competition was run by our students, judged by our students and even the prize was partly created by Millie - Children as Leaders - voice and choice!
Finally, thank you also to our almost-resident artist Mr Lee Bennion (of Play Rangers fame) for his incredible artistic talents and his ongoing support of the school.
Our Flag competition has closed and is now open to viewing. Children will be voting for their favourite flag next week and we look forward to seeing their design come alive as a real school flag that we will be able to take to school events.
Thank you to FOLG for funding the flag and pole! Huge congratulations to Charlotte and Maisie for running the competition - Children as Leaders!

Thank you for supporting children during these challenging times for many in our local and wider community - Community Wellbeing in action! Here's 3E Rockin' their Jumpers!
It was a pleasure to welcome so many new and potential Little Green Community Members to our Open Day on Thursday. The main focus was our 18 Year 6 elected cabinet members taking questions and then giving a tour to all of the families. Their passions and positivity were infectious and it was a pleasure to see our children taking on the role of school ambassadors so effectively. We also understand some people may not have been able to make the morning. If this is the case, do contact the office as, where possible, every day is an open day - we are proud to show you what we do every day at Little Green. We also have a brilliant Virtual Tour should you wish to share the feel of the school with your children. I also copy below the slides from the morning presentation and the tour headlines:
It has been four years since we researched, consulted and launched our core ethos ideas:
Community Wellbeing
Attitude to Learning
Powerful Knowledge
This year, we will carefully be reviewing and researching our ethos, PSHE Approach and Behaviour Policy for two critical reasons:
To make sure everyone has a voice in shaping the ethos of the school
To make sure that the ethos continues to shape and impact our school
One plan is to support children with some simpler narratives to help them make more real life sense of the ethos. For example: part of Community Wellbeing is linked to being Kind and Safe. As we develop more ideas, we look forward to sharing these and sharing your own thoughts and ideas about the school's ethos.
It is lovely to see some entries already coming in to school. Well done!
Have a go! You have to be in it to win it!
...Our Reading Badge Competition is in need of immediate launch as some children have already achieved their bronze badges.
Hooray for a love of reading!
Please click the letter for information and the template. Badge entries to be sent in by Monday 13th December!
Badges are a 59mm circle (allow 2mm for the edge!)
Stationery sets
If you missed out on ordering stationery sets we have received new stock and will be opening the opportunity to order on PTA events again - the introductory price has unfortunately finished so packs will now be priced at a very competitive £8 (still far cheaper than you can source on the high street!) and can be ordered via: www.pta-events.co.uk/folg. Information of what is contained in the packs can be found at this link.
Second hand uniform
Good quality second hand uniform can be ordered from Faye via folg-uniform@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk - most items are just 50p. Send an email outlining the items you wish to order - remember to include sizes and your child's class - you will then receive an email to let you know when your items are ready to collect from the school office.

Just a polite reminder that parents should not be driving into the car park for any reason. Only Blue Badge holders should be accessing the car park. Thank you.
