We are very excited to announce the circus is coming to Little Green School for 2 days 9th and 10th June 2023. The main show is on the 10th June 2023. There are three shows. Please see poster attached.
Please book tickets now for the 10th June 2023 to avoid disappointment as limited space.
Each individual needs a ticket. Under 2's are free.
Reminder year 6 children who are going to Rickmansworth school have CAT test that day so later show might be best.
We will need some volunteers to help with some stalls so if you are able to help please let us know by emailing folg@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk.

To support the day we have Crazy Hair Day in a couple of weeks - Look to Mr. Roberts for inspiration!
This week our Year 6 children had the pleasure of six written assessment papers taken under strict examination conditions. The children were an absolute credit in their attitudes to this experience and all stayed focused on trying their best to the end! We are confident they will have shown us what they are capable of, in these conditions, and we want to congratulate them on their utterly outstanding attitudes shown throughout the entire week.
It is also worth highlighting the incredible support and focus shown by the Year 6 teaching staff and wider school staff in supporting and preparing the children for this experience: how to manage when under pressure!
Finally, a massive thank you to the parents who continue to support their children at home whether with reading, spellings, Doodle, Lexia and Home Learning - all of this builds up to make a difference! Well done to everyone involved in rising to the challenge!
Little Green have successfully won the Rickmansworth Partnership Tag Rugby League for the second successive year. The team of Year 6's played Harvey Road, Rickmansworth Park & Yorke Mead Schools in a round robin tournament to decide which school would be going through to the Three Rivers & Watford District Final. The team had been working hard in the build up to the matches, practicing their Tag Rugby skills in PE lessons and reflecting on the success they achieved in the Year 5 Tag Rugby Festival last year.
Mr and Mrs Lovelock entered a piece of artwork that Harrison had completed at the after school Art Club, and we received notification today that his work has been chosen for an online display by the Royal Academy of Arts for the Young Artists’ Summer Show!
He has been selected from over 21,000 submissions.
Well done Harrison - having a go and trying your best!
A massive thank you to the Friends Of Little Green for donating a brand new football goal and new football kit for the school. Year 6 Parliament members were happy to see their wish of getting a new short sleeved football kit for the school becoming a reality.
See our Year 5 & 6 captains group modelling the new kit!
FOLG second-hand sports kit marketplace
We are really excited to announce that FOLG is setting up it’s own online marketplace for parents to donate and buy second-hand sportswear and equipment on a new community based app called "Grassboots". With most donations priced between £1.00 to £5.00 it provides a fantastic opportunity to buy preloved kit for amazing value, especially during these difficult times. So, to join up, please go to your App store and download the “Grassboots.Club" app. When registering, link to Little Green School (FOLG) and you’re then good to go. Once an item is bought, contact the donater via the in-app messenger to arrange a collection time at the school gates...easy! This community focussed initiative gives the school and parents a great opportunity to recycle more, reduce waste and the majority of every sale goes towards fundraising targets for FOLG... so please join up and start donating and buying!
For more information please go to: www.grassboots.club or Facebook / Instagram @grassboots.club
Stationery sets
If you missed out on ordering stationery sets we have received new stock and will be opening the opportunity to order on PTA events again - the introductory price has unfortunately finished so packs will now be priced at a very competitive £8 (still far cheaper than you can source on the high street!) and can be ordered via: www.pta-events.co.uk/folg. Information of what is contained in the packs can be found at this link.
Second hand uniform
Good quality second hand uniform can be ordered from Faye via folg-uniform@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk - most items are just 50p. Send an email outlining the items you wish to order - remember to include sizes and your child's class - you will then receive an email to let you know when your items are ready to collect from the school office.
Upcoming events
Crazy Hair Day Thursday 25th May

Mon 15/05 - Fri 19/05: Year 6 away on PGL trip

NOTES:
Please do show kindness to everyone when using all of the paths to and from school. The end of the day is always a busy time and, as requested by parents, we do have a 2-way system. Many thanks for supporting the community.
CAR PARK REMINDER
Just a polite reminder that parents should not be driving into the car park for any reason. Only Blue Badge holders should be accessing the car park. Thank you.
