Week 14 17.12.21 Merry Christmas!

Monday Year 4 Production

Year 4 did such a great job with their performance of 'Superstar': a play within a play. They challenged themselves by trying to project their voices, acting, making props, assembling costumes, but above all, they took a risk by getting out there on stage in the first place.

They created a journal of their emotions, before and after each performance, in their English books. It was fascinating to read either how calm some of the children were, or how they overcame their nerves. Many of the children said that, if they were giving themselves advice for next time, they would urge themselves to try and get more lines!

Great job, Year 4 (and the Y4 Team!).

Tuesday Christmas Lunch

Thank you to the amazing Kitchen Team for the delicious Christmas Lunch prepared and enjoyed on Tuesday.

We also went environmental and every child was able to choose either a maze game or a Crystal Art activity. Thank you to Herts' Catering for supporting the school.

Wednesday Carol Service

On Wednesday, Year 6 went to All Saints Church to perform the Christmas Carol Concert. Years 3, 4 and 5 were able to watch and join in the performance from a google meet. We had so much fun, the children were excellent at singing and reading and we thoroughly enjoyed being in the Church with the lovely Reverends.

(We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with the Googlemeet recording - the video should be up by Friday evening, so you can all enjoy with your families over Christmas. See www.littlegreen.herts.sch.uk for the film update.)

Thursday Pantomime

After their own theatrical successes, Year 4 went to the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth on Thursday to see 'Cinderella'. The children were immensely excited by the whole thing - it was fantastic to see them screaming at the 'ugly sisters' and Baron Hardup, hollering "it's behind you", and generally having a brilliant time.

Huge thank you to our parent volunteers who helped supervise the children - especially Mark, who got way more than he bargained for!

Friday Talent Show Celebration

This week the children chose to share their talents in front of their own class. Those selected were then able to share those talents, live or recorded, to the whole school. It was lovely to see so many talents on show and so many children appreciating the vast array of Little Green Talents on show. Well done to everyone who took the risk and put in the effort to perform!

A particularly festive talent from Ghaazi to give you a flavour of the amazing Little Green Community talents:

Lots more Learning on the Website!

We wanted this week's Newsweb to have a festive feel. That's not to say that some incredible learning, lessons and achievements have not taken place. Do check out the recent blog posts to find out what else the children of Little Green have been accomplishing. Special mention to the courageous footballers who came so close! www.littlegreen.herts.sch.uk

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that donated to the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal - more details here: Salvation Army, Watford.

A delighted Ms Shah, who coordinated your donations, ended up having to make 2 trips! The first load went directly to The Salvation Army, the second went to their donation drop off point at Asda.

Well done to Ms Shah and her team of helpers for bringing this together.

Community Wellbeing is at the heart of our school ethos, so it is so heart warming to see that so many of our our school community want to help complete strangers who, for one reason or another, are struggling.
