Be Excellent!

This terms' Senior Leadership assemblies will be on the theme of excellence and being excellent. The children impressed us all with their thoughts around what excellence might mean to them and we will be, again, using the Learning Journals to support excellence in learning through the Summer Term. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our Malvern Way colleagues to a joint INSET training session on supporting behaviour and considering what excellent behaviour management means today.

We have a Summer Term of exciting and excellent opportunities for learning including Sailing, PGL, Circus, Pushball, Debates, End of Year shows, Sports Week and much more. Let's make it excellent!

What excellent means to children:

Summer Term 2023 - Be Excellent

Assembly slides on being excellent and the House Point termly champions announced!

FOLG Fun Run/ Welly Walk

THANK YOU! An amazing amount of money raised from the Fun Run and a special thank you and well done to the Elephants for raising the most amount of money! The children were very positive about the day and we do hope to do a similar event in the future making use of the beautiful countryside on our doorstep.

Croxley Arts Café

Please come along and see more of the children's art work, including Year 6 Art project pieces, alongside other local school art being displayed at the Arts Café (alongside crafts, cakes and children's activities). Saturday 22nd April, from 11am to 4pm at Croxley Baptist Church, Baldwins Lane - leaflet below!

We have loads of our children's work on display alongside local artists.  Lots of crafts, food etc/cafe to enjoy whilst looking at the art; bringing community together whilst celebrating all the local art and talent we have in our community!

Sporting Excellence!

Mixed Football Team League winners!

The first time in 12 years!

It was lovely to see so many children represent the football team through league matches and in to the district finals where we were delighted to emerge victorious!

Girls District Football Winners!

Not to be outdone, following their success in qualifying for the Premier League finals at Leeds Football Club, the girls football team have also won the local district final. We are all very proud of the sporting successes we have been achieving accros the school. Well done everyone!

FOLG Funded Raffle Ticket draw

Congratulations to the winners of the termly House Point raffle ticket draw. Children rewarded for being excellent! We love the raffle approach as everyone has a chance to win if they have earned a raffle ticket. Those children with more raffle tickets have more chances! We did explain to the children that luck can mean anyone can win and, sometimes, this might be the same people. We do have the rule that the same child can't win both year group prizes each term! Congratulations to all the children showing excellence and earning House Point raffle tickets. The House Point competition was won by Rhinos for the Spring Term and it is all to play for for the end of year. Good luck to everyone!

FOLG second-hand sports kit marketplace

We are really excited to announce that FOLG is setting up it’s own online marketplace for parents to donate and buy second-hand sportswear and equipment on a new community based app called "Grassboots".  With most donations priced between £1.00 to £5.00 it provides a fantastic opportunity to buy preloved kit for amazing value, especially during these difficult times.  So, to join up, please go to your App store and download the “Grassboots.Club" app. When registering, link to Little Green School (FOLG) and you’re then good to go. Once an item is bought, contact the donater via the in-app messenger to arrange a collection time at the school gates...easy! This community focussed initiative gives the school and parents a great opportunity to recycle more, reduce waste and the majority of every sale goes towards fundraising targets for FOLG... so please join up and start donating and buying!

For more information please go to: www.grassboots.club or Facebook / Instagram @grassboots.club

NOTES:

Please do show kindness to everyone when using all of the paths to and from school. The end of the day is always a busy time and, as requested by parents, we do have a 2-way system. Many thanks for supporting the community.

CAR PARK REMINDER

Just a polite reminder that parents should not be driving into the car park for any reason. Only Blue Badge holders should be accessing the car park. Thank you.
