It was an absolute pleasure and a highlight of the year so far to welcome Alan Restarick (Deputy Chair of Governors), Raiko, and Amy (parents) Louise, Dorothy, Izzy and Jessica (Competition organisers) Lee Bennion (professional artist) Oliver (the competition winner as voted by the pupils) and the whole school in celebrating our Back Drop Artwork. This project embodied two of the themes we have been discussing in assembly all year: Legacy and Voice.
In September, Jessica, Louise, Izzy and Dorothy asked if they could set up a drawing competition. We thought we would make it purposeful - the drawing would become the backdrop and the competition was called 'Drawing a Legacy! Alex's entry was built on the idea that learning is like building a castle - it gets bigger and bigger as you learn. We then invited our, almost, resident artist to complete the design this Easter and what a triumph the whole team have created - and a legacy for the current and future Little Green Community. Congratulations to Alex and everyone involved in giving the whole school a community spirited WOW!
It was a pleasure to see the Buddy Family Mentors of Year 5 and 6 running with their Mentees in 3 and 4 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Daily Mile. We are very committed to ensuring all children are positively active remaining fit and healthy. If you ever want to compliment this, there is a well organised JUNIOR Park Run each Sunday at Leavesden Park. See the brochure below.
On Wednesday all of the children in Year 3 went on a school trip to Go Ape Nets at Black Park. The children all participated and had an amazing time. They were a credit to the school and made us all very proud. The Nets are suspended in the trees and they had to use their strength and PE skills to climb up. Despite a few nerves at the beginning, everyone got to the top and bounced in the trees all morning! A huge thank you to the many parents and volunteers who came to help out and enjoyed the nets as much as the children! A special thank you to Mrs Muckell and Mrs Marriott - mums of Miss Muckell and Miss Marriott - for the extra support and for raising such talented children!
Thank you and well done to the inspirational children and parents who wanted to something to support Cancer Research. Thank you also to all of the children and families who queued up
DISTRICT GIRLS CHAMPIONS!
The Little Green Girls Football team played in the Three Rivers & Watford District Finals on Thursday at Parmiters School after winning their family league in convincing fashion. They played three games, against Abbott's Langley, St Mary's and The Russell School who had also won their respective family leagues. The girls were unbelievable, winning all three games without conceding a single goal and finishing in 1st place! A massive congratulations to the girls for becoming District Champions, another fantastic achievement in an unbeaten season that has seen them win every competition entered so far.
A special well done to Mr. Rivers, Sports Coach, who continues to positively support our whole school in developing our PE skills and for also driving success at the team level . A brilliant and ongoing achievement!
Representing the best of the Rickmansworth Family of Schools!
On Tuesday, all of the league winners from the Sports Partnership Leagues competed in a district final at Parmiters School.
The level of competition was extremely high, which was to be expected, and Little Green had a tough time. The team gave it their all in all of their 5 games and ended up finishing 6th place.
Well Done to the team on their great achievement of being 6th best team in the entire Three Rivers & Watford District.
