We have a FOLG themed Newsweb this week to highlight the incredible work our active FOLG members complete and the huge benefits the whole community feels because of the ongoing commitment of our community members. It was no surprise to me that the winning entry to the Backdrop competition placed FOLG at the very center of the school showing the place the children hold in their hearts for our dedicated parents and carers. Thank you!
We also had SATs this week for Year 6. The children were an absolute credit to themselves and the whole community staying focused and trying their very best. We are all very proud of you.
We also share this term's Home Learning Projects below. Do also continue to read, and practice times-tables and spellings. If you feel you would like more, see Week 16 of the Newsweb for a range of recommended educational websites.
FOLG have been very busy preparing for the School Summer Fair which is being held on Sunday 26th June organising performers, stall holders and an afternoon of fun activities to entertain the children. We would like to thank the following children for taking the time to enter the design a fair programme, Tilly Lansley, Olivia Hutchinson, Martha Faires, Lily Oliver and Alex Oliver – the standard was very high, and we shall be revealing the winner next week. A small prize will be given to all of these children for taking part. Well done! This year, as with previous years – wristbands will be on sale for the children attending the fair to give unlimited rides on the vast range of inflatables and activities we have coming to the fair – look out for more information on this.
In addition, our very successful Grand Raffle will be returning to the school fair with a Top Prize of £250 voucher to spend at The prestigious Grove – this could be redeemed against Golf, The Spa or meal in one of the gorgeous restaurants kindly donated by Robsons Estate Agents. Look out for raffle tickets coming home soon…
Jubilee Croxley Green Treasure Hunt in conjunction with Malvern Way – if anyone is willing to display a picture in their house window to be part of the Jubilee treasure hunt around Croxley Green please let Cat know at folg@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk by Friday 13th May. It would only involve displaying an image and letter in your window which would make up part of the treasure hunt route – some of you may remember the Easter Treasure Hunt we organised which was a great success. Look out for more information!
Remember anyone interested in joining the committee as Treasurer or able to volunteer any time please let us know at folg@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk Thank you all for your support, without help we would not be able to do all these wonderful things.

Miss Gay plea:
Here at Little Green, we pride ourselves on supporting the community and this cause is particularly close to my heart. Very dear family friends of mine have had their lives completely changed within the last year. Caitlin is an 8 year old girl, who was diagnosed with Batten’s disease in October 2021. The charity Safe Haven for Caitlin is raising money to give her her own space, as she currently shares a room with her brother.
The fantastic company Magic Daisy Publishing has created a short story competition for children ages 4-11. You can write about anything you wish with a limit of 1000 words that will need to be submitted by 31st July 2022. The winner of this competition will have their short story published in their very own book. To enter this amazing competition, you will need to follow this link: https://magicdaisypublishing.co.uk/short-story-competition and pay £4, which will go towards Caitlin’s fund.
Thank you in advance and good luck to all who enter!

Children's Voice:
Some inspiring young boys from Year 4 have asked to organise a 'black and yellow' bee day. We have agreed and will be sending out more information next week. For now, save the date - Wednesday 25th May. We will be learning about bees, wearing black and yellow and, hopefully, raising some funds for a bee project in the future...
Last week I incorrectly reported that we had no cases. I must apologise as an Arbor change to reporting left the information incorrect and we, in fact, did have two cases reported.
This week - having triple checked the information - we currently have 1 child and 0 staff.
This will be our last Covid update unless we see any significant upturn in numbers.
Do report your children's positive cases here:
