Year 9 The Liverpool Way
Year 9 The Liverpool Way
The Liverpool Way provides Year 9 students with the opportunity to explore the practical areas of holistic football development, exposing them to an authentic Liverpool FC International Academy experience.
Students in this subject will participate in practical learning opportunities that will develop and refine core football skills and techniques, including; Passing, Shooting, Receiving, Turning and Dribbling. Each practical session will be made up of activities from the LFC IA Framework, including; Technique, Athletic Development, Street Soccer, and Game. This framework reflects the Club’s Foundation Phase model at the Academy in the United Kingdom and across all Liverpool FC International Academy global programs.
The theoretical component of this subject will see students exploring 'The Liverpool Way', including the LFC values of Ambition, Commitment, Dignity and Unity. Students will develop deeper understandings of how to apply these values not only in football, but in their daily lives. Students will also plan for, implement and evaluate opportunities for students at Catherine McAuley College and other local Primary Schools to become more physically active through football.
Students in The Liverpool Way will complete regular and ongoing reflections of their performances and progress in this subject in accordance the the LFC Values.
Please note - Students in this elective will be required to undertake responsibilities outside of the classroom. These initiatives may include:
Volunteering to lead breaktime football activities for Coolock students.

Depending on enrolment demands across all Year 9 elective subjects, students may be placed in one or two Health and Physical Education electives. Students wishing to undertake two Health and Physical Education electives should enter these in preferential order. The College will always endeavour to place students in their chosen electives, however due to our large cohort of students, we cannot guarantee this will always occur.
