Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is a valuable opportunity for a VCE VM student to integrate on-the-job training with their VET program. Participating in SWL is NOT compulsory, however it is highly recommended. (Some VCE VET programs have a mandated SWL component.) It is designed to help students apply the skills and knowledge they learn in their VET program in an industry environment.
Students at CMC are offered one-week blocks of Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) each Term.
Students research and approach suitable employers with the support of the Careers Team to secure a Structured Workplace Learning arrangement. Students may choose to complete Structured Workplace Learning with a range of suitable employers so they can explore individual employment pathways.
Structured Workplace Learning provides the context for students to develop employability skills as well as practical industry knowledge and can enhance employment prospects for students.
