Welcome to Year 9 Media
Media plays an important role in our lives and our social and cultural representations.
In Media you will explore the scope of ‘Digital Media’ using a variety of Digital Communication Technologies. You will learn the process of designing, creating and sharing Media using industry software “Adobe”, while creating alternative viewpoints with images, sounds and text.
You will learn how to proficiently use.
Digital SLR cameras for Photography. These will be on loan from the library.
Adobe Lightroom to edit and organise your images. This is like a dark room.
Photoshop for image editing and composition of your photography.
Adobe Premier Rush – understanding video editing composition.
Your work will be shared via an online Adobe Spark Portfolio, while taking into consideration social and ethical issues.
Types of learning activities
Taking photos with digital SLR cameras with consideration regarding the Photography triangle
Introduction to various camera modes such as Aperture Priority and Time Value
Image correction of stock photos using Adobe Lightroom
Digital manipulation of images in Adobe Photoshop.
Exploring video editing of small clips with Adobe Premier Rush
Creating an online digital portfolio employing Adobe Spark
Equipment Needed
SD Card for photography and video
USB – 16GB or larger for storage of content
Headphones – to follow tutorials
