StoryCorps project

12/7: Response: share your draftwork wth me (required) and with your group members and get response to improve your project (NO more than 4 in a group AND NO pairs. PLEASE look around and make sure you divide up correctly). For each, make sure that you read both the assessment choices and the grading criteria handouts attached below, so you can help to make sure that each classmate is meeting the criteria, My suggestion for conducting response is that you will share the document with group members (view only) read it together and discuss - writer adds comments to document or takes notes (on paper? At the bottom of the draft?). You can, if you wish, share and allow people to edit and your group members can make comments on the document itself. When you are finished, work on revising.

I would like to start setting up a schedule for the oral presentations. If you want to volunteer to present next week, please shoot me an email. Also, if you know you are going to be out - please send me an email with dates. If no one volunteers, I'll pick names at random and let you know.

12/6: Continue to work on the StoryCorps project or independent reading.

12/5: Everybody take a deep breath and to just listen again to the interview (or to others if you did not interview) and take notes about what's of interest. Keep the purpose of the project in mind: to allow us to hear from a variety of voices in America today and to profoundly connect those voices to our study in this course as part of the continuum. The best way to do this is through those foundation quotes. Does that make sense Do NOT try to force anything into a box yet. After you have listened and taken notes, then see where your best ideas lead you Do NOT try to complete the project without taking the required steps.

12/4: Here's a link to several of your classmates' interviews. If you are completing the reflection project, remember that you must listen to at least two of these interviews (the project requires that you listen to a minimum of three interviews total - see assignment and grading criteria for more).

11/29: See "OV Grading criteria for StoryCorps Options" attached below.

11/22: We practiced interviewing with the StoryCorps App.

11/21: Here's the link to the Great Thanksgiving Listen page. On this page, you'll find links to "Great Questions" and to the archives. For instructions see "OV StoryCorps Work in class" attached below.
