Stephen King

11/10: Must complete a "Suffer" plan by the end of the period (or by the end of the week if you were absent). You'll find the plan sheet as page 2 of the "Arts and Ms Sidley" attachment below.

11/7: working on the King story art choices (see below)

11/5: Finishing "Suffer the Little Children" (starting on page 86 - 88). On the front of the notecard, bullet three important descriptions of Robert as Miss Sidley sees him on pages 86-87. Copy down the description and the page number. Then, in three sentences, tell me what you think is happening with Miss. Sidley. Is she seeing things? Are they real? Is she crazy? Write at least three sentences. Then, finish the story. On the back of the notecard: react to the ending of the story. What did you think about Ms. Sidley's solution to the problem of the changing students and WHY? What do you think of the ending and WHY? Take a stand: was Miss Sidley imagining things or were the students changing? Back up your answer with specifics from the text. Fill the back of the card. You can find the audio for the story in 3 parts here: part 1, part 2, part 3

11/3 :“The Cat From Hell”: Finish reading the story. Add 3 more gory details on the front of your notecard (for a total of 8). Then, on the back, react to the story. What did you think of the ending and WHY? How does King create suspense and horror? Why does he choose a cat rather than some other animal? What does he gain? Fill the back.
