5/31: Please see "Eng 11 Choice Poetry work" attached below.
5/19: . You can either read your independent reading book or you can read one of the longer (at least two pages) articles in the UpFront magazine we looked at on Wednesday (do not read the yes/no article on the last two pages – we’ll do that later as a class). For whichever option you choose – when you are finished, on the front of the notecard: tell me the title of what you read, how many pages (if it was your independent reading book), list 5 plot points and/or interesting ideas. On the back of the notecard: tell me more. If you read your independent reading book, choose one character OR one idea that the book is exploring and reflect. Tell me about the character, his/her traits and how you know that, his/her role in the book, what you like and/or don’t like about the character and WHY, etc. If you are writing about an idea in the book OR an idea in the magazine, explain the idea to me as you understand it, give me some examples from the book or the magazine that will help me to understand what you read and reflect. Tell me what you think about this idea, why it interests you, why it matters, what you want to know more about, etc. Fill the back of the card.
