10/10: This weekend, read the biography of Plato and read “Plato’s Cave” from your packet. Remember that we started the study of the Greeks (in the “Ideas” packet) by talking about Plato’s ideals. His analogy of the Cave puts the ideals in practice. After you’ve read, DRAW me a picture that demonstrates your understanding of the analogy. Don’t worry about the quality of the art – show me what you know. Label the parts.
10/9 In class we read "Does Zeus exist?" Homework: Read the excerpt from The Disappearing Spoon. Blue book assignment is attached below ("Plato and chemistry")
10/8: In blue books, write about one of the Greek art pieces on the postcards. Describe what you see, then see what you can discover by applying what we talked about in terms of Greek philosophy from the Ideas packet.
10/6: Group assessment (jigsawing the -isms from the Greek Ideas packet).
