10/14: Choose one item from one of the three lists we've generated so far and write a paragraph about that item. Write a description of the person/place/thing that you value and why (why does this person/place/thing inspire you? Why do you find beauty here? How is s/he a hero?). Then, SHOW ME by giving me examples and explain the examples so I can see him/her/it in the same way. We'll work on revision next week for an assessment grade.
10/13: In your journal, brainstorm a list of what/who inspires you. What gets you out of bed in the morning to move on with the day? Who/what makes you want to reach for the stars? Who/what makes you want to be your better self? As you did before, jot down notes beside each to help you remember why they are on the list.
10/11: In your journal, brainstorm a list of people who you consider to be heroes. They can be people who you know, famous people, even characters from a book. Make the list as long as you can, and if there is time, jot down a few ideas next to each one about why.
10/5: In your journal, brainstorm a list of where you find beauty. This can be a list of things, of places, of ideas, etc. They could be words, they could by arts (like music, like painting, like pottery), they could be sounds (like a baby's cry, a brother's laugh), they could be places - specific or general, etc.
