Today in class, Ms. Pretet introduced the idea of "Revolutions" - the topic of the next unit.

In class, students worked to define the word revolution and create a list of 5 characteristics that come to mind when they think of the word revolution. Students discussed both of these items with each other, and then as a group, students wrote their definition and characteristics on the white board. Next, students reviewed all the definitions and characteristics of revolutions to ascertain similarities between what groups came up with. We discussed the commonalities that existed between group definitions and characteristics. Next, students worked with their pod mates to come up with 2-3 examples of musical, political, social, economic, and technological revolutions. Students then shared out their examples. The class then wrote down the definition of a revolution that we will use as we move through the next 4 chapters.
