Class began with a "Question of the Day" Worksheet. See attachment below (page 1 of attachment are the questions, page 2 of the attachment are the answers). The question of the day worksheet wrapped up classical conditioning and began our discussion of operant conditioning.

Next, the class went over the differences between reinforcement and punishment as well as positive and negative. By going over those terms, we then discussed and came up with examples of positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment. (Please see the "Operant Conditioning - Note Handout - filled in" attached below.)

Students then worked with a partner to work on practice problems identifying positive/negative reinforcement/punishment. Please see the attachment titled "Answer Key - Operant Conditioning Practice Wkst" and "Answer Key - Positively and Negatively Reinforced Behavior Wkst.

We then discussed the difference between continuous reinforcement and partial/intermittent reinforcement. We went over the 4 types of partial reinforcement (fixed ratio, fixed interval, variable ratio, variable interval). Students completed an application worksheet trying to identify which type of reinforcement schedule was being used. Please see attachment labeled "Answers - Activities Wkst - Schedules of Reinforcement."
