o Take attendance: Please mark anyone who is absent or tardy on the class roster sheets that are located on my desk in the social studies office; students do have assigned seats – see attached seating chart.

o Please write this on the board and go over it with students:

§ Agenda for Econ

· Movie: Even the Rain

· Film Note Sheet – Day 2/3

· Time to work on brainstorming for paper

· Homework: Finish Day 2/3 Film Note Sheet

o Ask students to take out their Film Day 2/3 Note Sheet (this was handed out yesterday)

§ Students should work on filling this out while watching the movie/end of class

o Set Up Movie – Even the Rain – project onto the screen

§ Eve Jasso (phone extension is 2220) – the Administrative Assistant will help you

§ You will have a computer to use to project this movie

§ Directions on how to project the movie

· Hit the “open” button on the CD/DVD drive on the computer – should be on the right hand side of the computer – the eject button

· Place DVD into the Cd/DVD tray; push tray back into the computer

· The movie should load automatically

o If the movie does not load automatically, follow the steps below

- Click on the “Windows” icon on the computer screen (bottom left-hand corner)

- Click on the word “Computer”

- Under the heading of “Devices with Removable Storage” – click on “DVD RW Drive”

· This is Day 3 of the movie, so please play the movie from where the substitute yesterday left off – the time should be written on my sub plans from yesterday; you can also ask a student to tell you what time they left off on in the movie

o You should be finishing the movie today

· **** movie subtitles need to be on – on the home menu for the movie, there is a settings option – click on that and choose English subtitles and then resume the movie

o After the movie ends, students are to take out their Even the Rain Synthesis Assignment Worksheet (details what students are supposed to do for writing their paper on this movie)

§ Students should use the rest of the period to work on their outline for their paper

§ Students were given the directions for this paper last Friday – I went over the rules of the paper with them last Friday

§ Students should work on their outline on loose leaf paper- will not have computers today

o Homework:

§ 1. Film notes – Day 2/3 – finish – if not done in class
