7th and 9th period: Today in class, the teacher collected the "Greek Philosophies and Science" Guided Notes from ABC-Clio that were assigned for homework on Monday. Teacher graded them and handed them back in class. See attachment for "Greek Philosophies and Science" Guided Notes from ABC-Clio handout.
All Classes:
Class began with the teacher handing out a copy of the "Semester 1 Final Exam Study Guide." This study guide is due on the day of the final.
Next, students took out their Greece DBQ Packet and worksheet titled "DBQ - Packet Analysis - Greece." (This was what we were working on on Monday). See attachment "DBQ-Packet Analysis - Greece" below. As a class, we completed step 3. Ms. Pretet read aloud Documents 4 and 10 while students annotated the reading. Each document was then discussed. Students completed step 4 (thesis, evidence, analysis) based on the question stated in step 4. Student responses were then discussed, and the class generated a response.
Homework:
- Period 6: complete steps 5 (read and annotate DBQ documents 8 and 9) and step 6 (thesis, evidence, and analysis).
- Period 7: complete steps 5 (read and annotate DBQ documents 8 and 9) and step 6 (thesis, evidence, and analysis).
- Period 9: complete steps 5 (read and annotate DBQ documents 8 and 9) and step 6 (thesis, evidence, and analysis) AND step 6 (read and summarize documents listed)
- All Classes: work on "semester 1 final exam study guide" - due day of final exam. See attachment below for a copy of this study guide.
Students were placed with a partner, and students swapped homework assignments and edited their partner's work, looking for ways to improve their partner's thesis, evidence, and analysis. Each partnership then discussed their ideas.
