Today in class:

1. Filled out a note card with your name and period. These note cards will be used by Ms. Pretet to make sure she hears from all voices in the class.

2. Went over the textbook - Students opened to module 1. Reminded students to pay attention to the headings, the questions posed at the beginning of the module, and to read the Module Review (at the back of the module) BEFORE reading the module itself (this will give students a great preview of what they will be reading in the module itself).

3. Remote Associations Activity: completed columns 2 & 3; the class discussed why they remembered so many more terms in column 3; discussed the idea of the self-reference effect and its connection to the Double Sided Journal.

4. Handed out Double Sided Journal Guidelines and Quarter 1 Grading Rubric (see below for attachment)

- the class reviewed how students are required to take notes in AP Psych. On the left side of the page, students are to write down headings, vocabulary terms (including italicized words), key people, studies, dates, etc. On the right side of the page, students are to make a connection to EVERY BOLD FACED TERM. Connections can be mnemonics, buzz words, breaking down the term, or real world examples. Please note, you do NOT have to do all 4 of those for a connection. Choose 1 of the options, and vary them throughout your journal.

Homework:

1. Journal Module 1; objectives 1-3 (students were provided with a guided note sheet to fill in for their notes for this first module)
