Prosperity Gospel : A Gospel of the Antichrist

by Kato Mivule

1 John 4:1-6

(1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

(2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

(3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

(4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

(5) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

(6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh...this is the spirit of the Antichrist... However, the 'confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh' is not a mere outside mouth confession or a religious confession in the church but an acknowledgment, realization, submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our personal life and from the heart to the fact that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh...that He reigns as Lord in our personal lives.

1 John 4:2

(2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

It is the recognition, realization, submission, and obedience to the Life, Authority, Power, Lordship, Command, Word of God, and Life of Suffering, of Jesus Christ. So, this is not just mere confession on the outside that "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh" yet when one's life and heart are totally contrary to the 'Life of Jesus Christ in the Flesh'.

'Confess' in Greek...means "assent, that is, covenant, acknowledge: - con- (pro-) fess, confession is made, give thanks, promise".

So, the Greek word that John used here 'confess' is 'homologeo' meaning…

To Assent...

Covenant…

Acknowledge…

Confess…

Give Thanks…

So, the verse above speaks about not only confessing the that 'Christ Jesus is come in the flesh' but obeying Jesus Christ and living the life of Jesus Christ in us. Just as Christ Jesus walked in the flesh, so we follow His example and we too walk a life that is dead to this world, sin and evil and live the life of Jesus Christ in us.

This means total obedience to the commands of Jesus Christ in us. It means dying to the things of the world and the pleasures of the world. It means carrying our cross and following Jesus Christ daily.

If we Confess, Acknowledge, Realize, Covenant, Assent that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, then we live that life of suffering just as Jesus Christ suffered, we live the life of the cross, we then love the things Jesus Christ loves and hate what He hates. This means not being a friend of the world and not loving the things that are in the world. It means 100% obedience to Christ Jesus regardless of the price and cost, even if it means our very lives.

1 John 4:3

(3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The Antichrist spirit confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh...this is a spirit of rebellion that does not realize, acknowledge, submit to the Lordship and Life of Jesus Christ. This Antichrist spirit submits to the things of the world, to the life and lordship of the world, riches, materialism, silver, gold, and submission to man.

The deceptiveness about this Antichrist spirit is it's characteristic of hypocrisy; religious Christians in this category merely "confess" that Jesus Christ is Lord and that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh but they do not obey the commands of the Lord...they merely say Lord, Lord but don't do the things the Lord commands...

Matthew 7:19-23

(19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

(20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It is interesting to note that the 'Confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh' is in present tense and not past. Christ Jesus dwells in those who obey His commands, those who love Him, His saints, His True Church…and in Him we live, move, and have our being.

Acts 17:28

(28) For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

'Is come' in Greek... means:

Middle voice of a primary verb (used only in the present and imperfect tenses, the others being supplied by a kindred [middle voice] word, eleuthomai or elthō; which do not otherwise occur); to come or go (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively): - accompany, appear, bring, come enter, fall out, go, grow, X light, X next, pass, resort, be set.

So, the 'Is Come' in Greek is 'erchomai' generally meaning here...

Accompany

Appear

Bring

Come

Enter

Fall Out

Go

Grow

The life we live, we live in Christ Jesus and Jesus Christ in us. We don't live on our own but submit to His will and obey His commandments. Such a life is a life of the Cross, it is not a life of pleasures of this world as the Prosperity preachers desire us to believe.

Galatians 2:20

(20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

If Christ Jesus lives in us then we shall follow after His leading and example and not conform to the standards of this world.

For Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever…as He walked, so does He still walk, and so will He walk and even so we ought to walk after His likeness and character...

Jesus Christ was not parading around in the best SUV, Corporate Jet, designer clothing, million dollar houses, fat bank accounts, expensive vacations and cruises...Jesus Christ lived a simple life, a life that was not attached to the riches of this world and not a friend to the powerful and the elite. Jesus Christ reached out to the sinners, sick and the poor of His day and so must we if Christ Jesus truly dwells in us and if we truly confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh....

James 4:4-5

(4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

(5) Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

Prosperity Preachers always speak about terms like 'increase', 'going to the next level', 'being fruitful', 'divine favor in the world and business', financial increase, influence...and many other blasphemous terms...what the Prosperity teachers are doing is conforming Christian to the world and submission to man...this is the spirit of the Antichrist that 'Confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh'...

Brothers and Sisters be forewarned that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God. Those preachers who seduce you to such philosophies are liars and wolves in sheepskin seeking only to destroy your faith in Christ Jesus.

Now, many prosperity preachers argue that they also take care of the poor, orphans and help the sick but this is just Hypocrisy 101; these greedy preachers simply throw money in orphanages and pretend to help the poor not because they love to but because they seek to use the poverty of the poor for their own gain...

They get more donations when they show pictures of the poor to their donors...they pretend to preach the gospel but what they preach is heresy...their care for the poor is nothing but pure hypocrisy...they are like the IMF and World Bank "giving" Africans "Grants" which they expect Africans to repay somehow somewhere sometime in the future back to the world's elite Bankers - IMF and World Bank.

John 15:4

(4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Hebrews 13:8

(8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

1 John 2:6

(6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

So, we understand that the "confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh" has to do with our total obedience to Jesus Christ, abiding in Him, He abiding in us and them we as a must, walking even as Jesus Christ walked…

We now understand that we must bear fruit and that fruit is the Life, character and likeness of Jesus Christ in us…walking just as He walked…acknowledging that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh…He abides in us even to this day. Therefore, His character and likeness is not just historical and past and irrelevant as the world says but is and must be manifest in us today…

So, we take a moment and ask our selves, did Jesus Christ live a life of materialism, worldliness, greed, sin, hate, murder, jealousy, political Christianity?…which things, sad to say is what many Christians are walking in today blinded by foolish pastors and so-called apostles (actually apostates) who are busy committing adultery with the world and loving the things of the world.

1 John 2:15-18

(15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

(18) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

The spirit of the Antichrist is that which causes men to love the world and hate Christ and become enemies of God. Brothers and Sisters, let us watch and be very careful, today's prosperity preachers are agents of the Antichrist regardless of if they know it or not...the gospel of prosperity, riches and materialism is one that conforms Christians to the standards of this world while hypocritically using The Name of Jesus Christ.

Now, you CANNOT love Jesus Christ and at the same time love the things of the world such as materialism, posh cars first class air travel, the best cars – SUVs, Gulf Stream Jets, Million Dollar houses, huge dollar bank accounts, fame, upper class neighborhoods, the rich, powerful politicians and so forth…all best the world can give…

The prosperity gospel conforms people to love the things of this world and as such makes Christians friends with this world and as such they become enemies of God.

You cannot love such and think that you are abiding in Christ Jesus…those who think in such a way are hoodwinked and bewitched by Satan himself…and such is the prosperity doctrine and purpose driven life of lies and a life outside Jesus Christ.

Those who live in such lies called "prosperity gospel" will never be fruitful with The Life of Jesus Christ in them…they will never 'Confess, acknowledge, realize, assent, covenant, that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh'; they will always say that "Jesus Christ CAME in the flesh"…such is the spirit of the Antichrist…the spirit of the world and love for the things of the world…the spirit that rejects continual submission to the Lordship, Character, and Likeness of Jesus Christ.

1 John 2:15-19

(15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

(18) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

(19) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

The Antichrist spirit is very much connected to the love of the world and things of the world...

Those who love the world and the things of the world have no love of the Father in them… These are they that refuse to 'confess, acknowledge, and assent that Jesus Christ IS COME in the flesh'; they refuse the Lordship and Life of Christ Jesus in their personal lives…

Such is the Prosperity Movement…this Movement is one that promises Christians riches here on earth and the best of the world here in this dying world that is certainly passing away. The prosperity movement is one that subtly indoctrinates its believers to love the world and the things of the world and in the process, they do away with the Love of The Father and 'Confess Not that Jesus Christ IS COME in the flesh'…this is a movement of rebellion and as such it is an Antichrist Movement.

Sad to note is the fact that many churches here in Africa are being swept by this diabolical movement called the prosperity and purpose driven movement… TBN TV is the greatest dispenser of this World Love prosperity and purpose driven venom from the Antichrist.

I sometimes wonder why these TBN guys don't stop their broadcasts here in Africa…we don't need such venom, we are tired of it and please TBN keep your Antichrist programming to yourself. We shall have our bibles, those will be enough for us.

We are tired of such lies like "Enjoying Everyday Life" with Joyce Meyer, not forgetting Benn Hinn's Jet purchase campaigns…

Benn Hinn says that we should give him money so he can buy a new plane and that we so send him to preach the gospel around the world…we are tired of such lies, we don't see Jesus Christ in such, we don't see, His character and likeness in such preachers but greed, materialism, covetousness, merchandising and selling of all those small idols Benn Hinn loves to call gifts for the price of donations from his viewers, and sure enough this is an Antichrist spirit!

Sad and so sad is the fact that the 'emperor walks naked' and does not even realize it…the TBN promotion of such filth around the world is such and simply a walking naked emperor here on Africa's airwaves.

Revelation 3:17-18

(17) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

(18) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

What amazes me is the fact that despite heavy criticism against the prosperity movement and its preachers, many of them still continue to stubbornly preach this Antichrist Gospel of riches, fame, 'getting to the next level' "being fruitful" which is nothing other than love for the world.

Brethren, truly this is the last hour just as the Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostles warned us 2000 years ago about the great deception that would happen prior to The Lord's Second coming.

The storms of deception are blowing left and right and against the people of God, those who call themselves after the name of The Lord.

Deception is so rampant that Pastors of churches and Christians are giving themselves over to the overt love for the things of the world.

The deception is packaged to seduce Christians in accepting a "good" life in the world. They are promised the 'best in the world' if they 'saw' seeds of faith... The talk in Christendom these days is about being "fruitful" and getting to the "next level" but the fruitfulness spoken about by these imposters who pretend to be pastors is all about getting more influence, materialism, riches and money in the world.

The "next level" that these false apostles speak about is all about "getting to the next level" in the social ladders of the affluent societies...this is the gospel of elitism and it only leads towards destruction.

Sad it is to say that the greatest proponents today are the Western Preachers and Pastors, almost 99 per cent of TBN TV is about the promotion for love of the world and the things of the world.

We in Africa are daily being bombarded by the false teachings on TBN about a "good life", "being fruitful", and " getting to the next level" by mainly American preachers and America-nized preachers...

When one turns on Christian TV, all you see and hear is a gospel that speaks not about the cross of Jesus Christ but about "making it in life", all we hear constantly is the heresy and error by such speakers as Joyce Meyer, and not to mention Kenneth Copeland and his "Faith" programs...all these guys do is speak about being conformed to the world...

Brethren, those who want blunt discernment concerning TBN TV, here is it...this is a TV that promotes a false gospel, another gospel, a gospel of the Antichrist, a gospel that conforms believers to love the world and to get justification from man. Yes, regardless of how many innocent and sincere preachers are on this TV, they have been blinded by the god of this world and to seduce and deceive believers in loving the world while hypocritically singing the Name of Jesus Christ.

These are the last days and the Antichrist does not come dressed in Halloween attire, the Antichrist comes dressed in business attire - in a corporate suit and a briefcase full of 100 US Dollars bill notes, credit and debit cards, with a brand new SUV, flies in a personal corporate Gulf Stream jet, being welcomed on pulpits every Sunday, and having his programs aired across the world on "Christian TV", while promising millions peace, prosperity, and a good life here on earth...

It is no wonder that his (antichrist) gospel connects well with the elite political establishment; they are all seeking peace and prosperity...and the establishment know that what some "Christians" need today is just money and 'making it in life', the very thing the Antichrist is willing to offer in his peace and prosperity initiatives...

1 Timothy 6:3-10

(3) If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

(4) He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

(5) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

(6) But godliness with contentment is great gain.

(7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

(8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

(9) But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

(10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

For the love of money is the source of all evil...don't be deceived, you cannot serve Jesus Christ and at the same time serve money...the prosperity preachers are liars and deceivers who desire us to believe that we can love Jesus Christ and money at the same time...those who heed these wolves who love to call themselves prosperity teachers and 'enjoying everyday life' preachers are doomed for destruction...brethren, repent!

Brethren, come out from such, be separate and the Lord will receive you...Amen

Revelation 18:4

(4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

(14) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

(15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

(16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

(18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

A response on this article and our comments are given below

- Job Anbalagan

A dear servant of God opposed the above message with his arguments. I repudiated all his points. Please read the same prayerfully.

Point No.1

This article was one of the weakest I have ever heard. Total rubbish!

My comments:

A man speaking from the Word of God exhorting the people to trust in Jesus Christ and to follow Him carrying his own cross cannot preach any "rubbish" article. Asking the people not to love the best things of the world and to believe in Jesus Christ is not rubbish or not the weakest article that you have ever read. Read the Bible yourself. You cannot serve Mammon and God. Exhorting the people to serve Mammon is not of the gospel of Christ but of the Antichrist.

Point No.2

The word 'mammon' in original language 'mammōna' pronounced 'mam-mo-nas' is of Chaldeen origin and refers to 'monetary system of the world'. God has His own monetary system which we are to follow. Bible speaks 2000 times about money.

My comments

We follow the monetary laws of our nations as we have to obey the authorities in power. God does not have His own monetary system at all. We need money but should not be exhorted to covet it. We are supposed to help the poor, especially, of the Household of God. Under the Old Covenant, God gave His people commandments how to use the money for sacrifice at the < namespace="" prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" xml="true">Temple. Under the New Covenant, He wants us to help the poor with our money. There is no such monetary system of God.

I do not need "wealth" to give to the Church at all. My Father possesses all things in this world. He gives us what we require. He is faithful to us. You talk of gold in the heaven. You have to see the heaven through your spiritual eyes. Streets of gold! Gold is symbolical of the glory of God in the heaven. Yes, we get crowns and mansions in the heaven. Whatever we lose on this earth will be given to us in the heaven. Let us give unto the Church what we possess so that we can possess manifold in the heaven.

Point No.3

You did not mention about tithes and offerings? Is that the world’s system or God’s money system?

My comments:

Tithes were paid by the Jews to the Levitical priests under the Old Covenant. Under the new covenant, we have to give to the Church sacrificially with a cheerful heart. Tithing is one tenth but giving to God under the New Covenant has no limit at all. We cannot call this as the God's money system at all.

Point No.4

Tithing, offerings, sowing and reaping, better to give than to receive, honesty in financial matters etc. This is His monetary system. The world’s system is selfish. It is gain, borrowing, debt, stealing, etc.

My comments:

Honesty in money matters, giving to His Church, etc. are expected of an every disciple of Jesus Christ. You cannot call this as the monetary system of God. Only the Antichrist has his own monetary system in this world. Not borrowing or not stealing is standard of righteousness expected of every disciple of Jesus Christ. God does not control the monetary system of this world. Only the Antichrist controls the same. God is sovereign. He possesses everything in this world and in the heaven.

Please do not try to interpret a particular word "prosperity" from the Greek language to justify a doctrine that a man should possess everything in this life. Please read the teachings of Jesus Christ in the gospels. Do not misuse the Greek translation to counter the spirit of the message of Jesus Christ about possession and acquisition of assets in this world.

God wants us to live in good houses and to earn good salaries and to enjoy good health. These come out of His bounty. But we are not supposed to covet these things. Seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Please ask the people whom you minister to seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness.

Coveting means desire to possess something which does not belong to you. The riches of this world are not of God, though God supplies all our needs in Christ Jesus. If I require a vehicle of a particular brand which I can accord to buy, then I can do so. But if I take a huge loan to buy it when I have a good vehicle with me, then I am coveting something that is out of my reach. I have to be content with what we possess. Jesus and Paul warned us against covetousness.

Point No.5

If Jesus was poor why did He have a treasurer? He would not need a treasurer if His ministry only handled a few pennies. He traveled far and wide and paid for the expenses if 12 men and their wives. Luke 8:3 tells us that thousands gave Him offerings, which was a custom amongst Jews to give to prophets.

My comments:

Yes, Jesus had the money bag which He had entrusted to Judas who coveted money to the point of betraying his Master. I do have a bank account. How can you say that Jesus had a large amount of money in his money bag? When He had no money to pay tax, He asked Peter to go to the sea to look for a fish with money in its belly. Jesus did have the money bag and entrusted his money matters to Judas. Knowing that he was a thief, Jesus gave him the charge of His treasure. How can you say that Jesus traveled far and wide and paid for the expenses of his 12 disciples and their wives? Please note that all His disciples had no families at all. They had forsaken their families and followed their Master. Jesus did not travel far and wide to earn money for His disciples. You are presenting a Jesus (another Jesus) who was selfish and who coveted money for His disciples. Jesus asked His disciples not to take their money purses on their missionary journey. "Carry neither purse, nor scrip," (Luke 10:4). This does not mean that we should not carry our money purses during our missionary journeys in this 21st century. This means that we should not depend only on money or Mammon for our ministry.

You have written "Luke 8:3 tells us that thousands gave Him offerings, which was a custom amongst Jews to give to prophets". You have come out with a new doctrine that Jesus accepted offerings from the thousands to whom He ministered. Do not falsify the Scriptures!

Point No.6

Luke 8:3 Greek word for substance is 'huparchonta' pronounced ' hoop-ar'-khon-tah' means , 'property, possessions and wealth' I gave the Greek for 'substances' not the word 'prosperity'.

My comments:

Do you mean to say that these people like Susanna and others in Luke 8:3 ministered to Jesus out of their prosperity? Why do you quote the Greek here? They ministered to Jesus out of their substances. Substance means, "Material, food, stuff, body......" You mean to say that if these people had no "substances" or "abundance", they would not have ministered to Jesus. This is your absurd argument. Please note that we have to minister to the Church out of what we possess. I may possess only a hundred dollars in my bank whereas you may possess 1, 00,000 dollars in your bank. You and I have to minister to Jesus out of what we possess. For this purpose, I need not become rich.

Point No.7

See Mark 1:29, 30; Mark 10:7. Jesus teaches we should cleave to our wives and there are other verses too which you can search out about Peter’s mother in law etc. Have you left your wife? Would Jesus tell them to leave their wives and children to feed themselves? Is this Godly character?

My comments:

I did not ask you to forsake your spouse at all. Yes, Peter had his mother in law. I need not covet money to look after my spouse or my son. I have to manage my financial affairs with my legal income.

Point No.8

Judas held the money and he was not there when the tax collectors came. Notice Jesus also told to pay his taxes and Peters etc. Jesus was a blessing.

My comments:

How your statement is relevant to the subject at issue? However, please prove from the Scriptures how Judas was not there when the tax collectors came there to collect the taxes.

You are presuming something here. No doubt, Judas was a thief. But there is no gospel portion that says that there was no money in the money bag of Judas when Jesus had to pay the taxes. Jesus did not depend upon the money bag of Judas to perform His ministry and to pay the taxes. He had no money with Him when He had to pay the taxes. He simply asked Peter to go to the sea and to look for that particular fish.

Point No.9

Scripture clearly reveals He lived in Capernaum and had a house. Only the wealthy lived in this area of Israel. Why did He not live in the poor area?

My comments:

The Son of Man had no place to lay His head when the foxes have holes to live in. What is the gospel portion to prove that only the wealthy lived in this area of Israel and that Jesus had a house there? It is a mere presumption.

Point No.10:

The story of the alabaster box reveals His attitude about use of wealth. Notice the response of Judas and it sounds like yours. You cannot give anything valuable to Jesus if you have nothing valuable to give.

My comments:

The incident concerning the alabaster box had a different story to tell us. We should sacrifice the best things of this world for His Body, the Church. We are supposed to sacrifice and not to covet any material blessing for ourselves in a selfish manner. Please do not quote the Scriptures like this.

The poor widow gave all she had possessed. She gave all she had. We have to give to His church what we have. Whatever I give to Jesus from my possession that becomes precious in His sight. I need not covet money or the best things in this world to give the same to Jesus.

Point No.11

If Christians are poor how can they help the poor? You cannot be a blessing if you are not blessed.

My comments:

I am helping some poor saints in my nation i.e. India. You should know how I am doing so. I am asking some people of God in USA who are my co-workers to send money directly to a pastor here who is doing wonderful work in our nation. The co-workers in India are not very rich at all. The church in Macedonia gave out of their poverty, and not out of their abundance. We find in the Acts that the disciples who lived during the New Testament period had pooled their material resources together for a common ministry. They sold their land and placed the same at the feet of the apostles for equitable distribution amongst the saints. Can you do like this today? If not, please do not open your mouth at all.

Point No.12

(The servant of God who is now based in USA claims here).....In India we are working to help many girls kept in cages and some were raped hundred times per day. We need to buy them back from the practice of prostitution. We need over £1.5 billion to buy them all back. And you think I should believe in poverty gospel? Your selfish, self righteous, jealous preaching is of the Devil; only the devil wants Christians to be poor because he knows if we have money we can change nations with the gospel!

First we have to buy them back with money. Then we can preach to them. This type of ministry is being done with great results worldwide. Poor people cannot do this ministry.

My comments:

I do not know in which part of India you are doing this wonderful work of redeeming the people from the sin of prostitution. It is a good work indeed. To deliver them from this sin, we have to preach the gospel to them. You are not here to redeem them with the perishable money but with the imperishable Blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus has already paid the price for them.

If some pimps are holding these girls as prostitutes, the right course of action is to approach the authorities in power. We have very stringent laws to book those who indulge in immoral traffic. As the workers in the Kingdom of Christ Jesus, you should have brought this to the notice of the authorities concerned. You should not have bribed the pimps to release these girls. You are free to establish homes for these girls for educating and taking care of them. But you are not supposed to encourage the practice of bribing these anti-social elements. If you do so, then these anti-social elements will hold more girls in their captivity expecting huge ransoms from us.

Who are you to buy people with money? Please tell me in which part of India you are doing this ministry. We are from India only. Whom you are paying this money? You are not supposed to buy people with dollars? Please give us details in this regard. Jesus wants us to preach the gospel to the poor and not to buy them with our money. I am wondering on what you have written.

We do not believe in any gospel called "poverty gospel". We only believe in the glorious gospel which liberates the people from the sin and which does not put them into the bondage of money. We do not make the people poor at all. Of course, through prayers and ministry, we help the poor saints. We equip the poor saints for ministry. I do not require the dollars of the rich to preach the gospel in India. Of course, I require the sacrificial offerings of the members of the Body of Christ to preach the gospel.

There is no such "prosperity gospel" or a "poor gospel". There is only one gospel which Paul calls the glorious gospel. It is also called the gospel of Christ Jesus. It is a gospel unto salvation by the power of God.

Point No.13:

Just like you I used to loath prosperity preachers until God broke me to see I was wrong. Yes, maybe, they have not got it all right, and for sure I did not have all the answers, but your spirit in that article was mean and you were narrow minded. I noticed you did not once speak about the finances needed to help all the suffering people.

Joyce Meyers, Benny Hinn are doing more than you to help the poor and preach the gospel. Why...money? The Bible says a poor man is not heard...ask Solomon about prosperity.

My comments:

They may help in or establishing some orphanages, old age homes, all over the world. They may be doing wonderful charity. I am not denying it. I am hearing their messages in the Christian television channels. No rich "preacher" can enter the Kingdom of God if he or she has not taken care of the "poor Lazarus" in the Body of Christ. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Christian preacher becoming rich. But he or she has to sacrificially give to the Body of Christ, especially the poor saints. The only fault with the rich man in that parable is that he failed to take care of the beggar named Lazarus who desired "to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table " (Luke 16:20-21). . A Christian preacher can preach the gospel to the millions but what is required of them is to live the life of Christ. People should live the living Christ in them. In India, people saw Christ in Sadhu Sundar Singh. People saw Christ in the life of John Hyde (from America) who was known as the Praying Hyde of India.

Point No.14:

Is heaven a poor place? God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Take a look at the great gospel campaigns of Reinhard Bonnke - all paid for by prosperity preachers!

Is God poor?

My comments:

My God is not poor. He owns the Heaven and the earth. Along with Him, as His child, I am a co-owner. He meets all my needs for the ministry. In the heaven, you do not find the dollars or money but holiness and righteousness. You will find holy and righteous people and not rich people. You cannot enter the heaven with the riches of this world at all.

We are supposed to make our treasures in the Heaven where thieves do not break or where moth does not eat.

Point No.15

The word 'Glory' in OT and NT refers to wealth. Please do study in Hebrew and Greek. Glorious gospel means the gospel of God – the greatest wealth and power. Jesus said He was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor (Luke 4:17-18); the gospel means good news. Good news to the poor means that Jesus will save you and take you out of poverty. This is the glorious gospel.

My comments:

Jesus wants us to preach the gospel to the poor because these poor people would accept the gospel whereas the rich who possess every thing in this world do not want God at all. The Name Jesus means one who saves the people from the sin and not from the poverty at all. Of course, He blesses the saints with the material things of this world. He knows what we need. As we knock the door for a blessing, He hears our prayers and opens the door to bless us. The glorious gospel does not mean saving people from their poverty. Of course, God brings His people out of poverty as He meets all their needs. He feeds His people and do not allow them to be hungry. He gives them the best things. This does not mean that poverty is a curse. Do not quote the Scriptures like this. The poor also means the humble in spirit. The prideful people do not accept the simple gospel but try to understand it with their intellectual abilities.

Point No.16

Gospel means 'good news'. Jesus dies to save us from three things, sin (II Cor 5:21); Sickness (I Pet. 1:24) and poverty (II Cor. 8:9). All three things entered world after Adam sinned. All three things are not His will; otherwise they would have been in Eden.

My comments:

Jesus died on the Cross to save us from the sin. He has borne our sicknesses on His body. We are healed by His stripes. We are made rich in Jesus Christ by the grace in Christ Jesus. Do not quote the word "poverty" here. One who believes in Jesus Christ is materially blessed also. I am not denying it.

There were saints in this nation who came from the West to preach the gospel in this land. One of them was Ragland. At the time of his death, he could not get proper food because the people to whom he preached the gospel hated him and did not accept him. He was in poverty at the time of his death. Do you want to say that Ragland was cursed because of poverty? William Carrey came to our nation from England and worked as a cobbler in the streets of Calcutta to preach the gospel? Do you mean to say that he was cursed due to poverty? Many missionaries came to this land not with money in their purses. They came here empty handed and died in this very land. They built many churches, hospitals, orphanages, etc. But they were not rich. Recently, an American missionary was in Delhi. We call him "Dorsey uncle". He served this nation, established a school here and taught Bible lessons to many youths here. When he was on the death bed, he did not want to go back to America. At that time, his wife who was also sick was in America. At the time of his death, she could not come to India. Dorsey wanted himself to be buried in a graveyard here which was meant for the poor people here. He lived a very simple life. He did not own a car but only a bicycle here. He was not rich in money but was rich unto God.

You talk of "poverty" here and teach us about this!

Point No.17

What if God wanted to give you $10 million dollars, would you say no? Think of what you can do for people. It is only Satan that wants us to be without. Think about it....

My comments:

Give me the whole treasure of your nation. I will not accept it. But I will accept a few dollars from a child of God redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. There are precious people in America who are supporting our InJesus ministry through their offerings. I will not covet their offerings but covet their welfare and pray for them with a real burden. If you give me $10 million dollars, I will say No to you because the laws of my government will not allow me to accept such a huge sum of money from you. I will obey the laws of my nation. I do not need your perishable money to preach the gospel in this nation. I need fellowship with the people of God in America for carrying on my ministry. Fellowship means sharing the good things with those saints who do not have much.

May the Lord open your eyes to the truth I preach here? I love you in Christ Jesus. I do not condemn you for your ignorance.

Point No.18

It is selfish of you to desire only a few dollars; you cannot help many people with a few dollars. Please tell the millions of slum people that you do not want too much money to help them. Does this make sense?

My comments

I am ministering to some poor saints in our midst. Paul also mentions about the "poor saints" in Jerusalem. Paul collected funds from the church in Macedonia to minister to them. The church in Macedonia was not a rich church like your American churches. They gave sacrificially to His Body. There are indeed poor saints whom we have to minister, not out of abundance, but out of what we possess. Some precious members of the Body of Christ do give me money to minister to them. They give sacrificially for the Body of Christ. They need not become rich to give to His Church.
