Easter Monday, March 28 1910. Spink Walkington wins the Lancashire Chase at Manchester.
The Duffrey won the race again in 1911, but this time ridden by Ivor Anthony while Spink Walkington finished third on Bedgrove
The Duffrey was sent over to France to compete for the Paris Steeplechase at Chantilly. Unfortunately, he developed a leg while exercising on the jumping ground at Chantilly and never recovered. He died from septic pnuemonia.

He suffered a bad fall in 1920, forcing him to retire from the saddle, However, once completely recovered in 1922, he successfully sought a renewal of his riding licence. His first ride back was Sunsella in the Fulwell Hurdle. This came a day after a new rule - that NH jockeys would draw for places at the post - came into operation at Kempton (January 1922)

Spink returns on Comique after winning the Hounslow Steeplechase at Kempton Park's Christmas meeting 1914
On Monday 26 January 1914, at the National Sporting Club, London, Spinks and fellow jockey Winnie O'Connor met in the ring in a ten round contest for a gold cup. O'Connor was twice down in the fifth and down several times in the sixth before being counted out.
Frank Morgan was another well-known jockey with an aptitude for boxing, He was a winner of the Jockeys' Boxing Championship and on one occasion won the title by defeating Spink Walkington
