Paul Webber

Paul Richard Webber was born in Banbury on August 13, 1958 and rode his first winner, Weeny Bopper, at Chepstow on January 15, 1978.

He became Champion Amateur in 1980-81 with 32 wins.


Paul shares the same birthday as his father - trainer John Webber - and is the brother of Anthony Webber who finished second in the 1982 Grand National on Hard Outlook.


He decided not to turn professional and took over his father's stables when John died in 1995.
