Aaron Weiss

Aaron Weiss was born in Jersey on 20 July 1965.

Son of a hairdresser, he was apprenticed to ex-jockey Frankie Durr and rode his first winner, Darine, at Newmarket on August 27, 1982.

That day he came with a beautifully timed run to win: he repeated that performance a month later, taking a valuable apprentice handicap at Ascot on the same horse.

In July 1983, he rode one of the most praised races by an apprentice when making all the running on Sagamore at Newmarket.

He last appeared in the records when finishing second on Tolly's Ale at Brighton on April 10, 1986, and it would seem that he then stepped away from racing.
