Art is dynamic, it is ever changing. As you learned previously, art is constantly shifting in movements and styles. These changes are caused by many factors like social conditions and of course, advancements in technology. In the present, no technology has been as significant as the computer; and it is no surprise that artists have adapted it to create art.

An internet meme is defined as a movement, catchphrase, idea, or medium that is spread from one person through the internet. In the internet age, cultural boundaries are not as limiting and memes are often images wherein internet users using the same pictures give different and often humorous captions. Like many other examples of digital art, a meme starts with a picture and depending on its audience, branches out to other different memes. Internet memes have been used in marketing products and oftentimes as a social commentary.
