DRESSING-UP LIKE A

SOUTH or WEST ASIAN


South Asia is composed of:

AFGHANISTAN, BANGLADESH, BHUTAN, INDIA, MALDIVES, NEPAL, PAKISTAN and SRI LANKA

SARI is mostly worn by the women of the Indian subcontinent.

MEHNDI is a temporary tattoo or a body ornament made from using henna plant. It features floral, curvilinear, and intricate designs made of dots and lines.

MAANG TIKKA is a head ornament that parts the hair in the middle with a pendant attached at the end that falls at the center of the forehead.

TURBAN is a traditional headdress worn by men made by a winding cloth.

West Asia is composed of:

ARMENIA, AZERBAIJAN, BAHRAIN, CYPRUS, GEORGIA, IRAQ, ISRAEL, JORDAN, KUWAIT, LEBANON, OMAN , QATAR, SAUDI ARABIA, STATE OF PALESTINE, SYRIA, TURKEY, UAE and YEMEN

THOBE is a long tunic or full-length shirt that reaches beyond the knees.

NIQAB is a garment of clothing that covers the face, worn by some Muslim women.

BISHT is a cloak worn over a thobe.

KEFFIYEH is a large square cotton fabric folded into a triangle or wrapped like a turban.

HIJAB is a headdress or scarf tied around and hidden at the back to cover the hair and part of the women's forehead.

WHAT TO DO

  1. Decide whether you want to dress-up like a West Asian or a South Asian.

  2. Some components of your entire outfit may not be found in the videos above, however you can make a thorough digging on your own.

  3. You may ask someone to assist you in this project, don't forget to show your process video.

  4. Have a full-body photo of yourself showing your entire get-up.

  5. Publish all this in your blog. Hence, provide a brief description about your outfit.

  6. Submit link to Google Classroom.
