VERB TENSES

There are three tenses of the verb: present, past and future. The present tense expresses actions that are happening at the moment or is continuously active. The past tense express actions that already happened while the future tense express actions that are about to happen.

SIMPLE TENSES

PRESENT

Lauren walks to school everyday.

PAST

Lauren walked to school yesterday.

FUTURE

Lauren will walk to school tomorrow.

PROGRESSIVE TENSES

PRESENT

Lauren is walking to school.

PAST

Lauren was walking to school when the accident happened.

FUTURE

Lauren will be walking to school the day after tomorrow.


PERFECT TENSES

PRESENT

Lauren has walked this alley before.

PAST

Lauren came home to see her mom only to find out that her mom had moved to Colorado.

FUTURE

Lauren will have moved to Colorado with her mom next month.
